He's upped his fitness regime, mentioned it during an interview during preseason. Sometimes you see him running around at training, he looks like he could still play.
Yeah. Saw Woosh at the Gym the other day with some mates.

Our recruiting has been very short sighted and naive. We havent critically analysed our list and drafted accordingly - just taken players we like. It doesnt work like that when you have collected so many of the same player. I'm not sure how much say Woosha has had with recruiting but whatever has happened we still lack pace and xfactor, we still lack good crumbing forwards, despite our abundance of mid sized defenders we dont have anyone who is quick and now perhaps we lack size in the middle (although i dont think that is a big issue).

I agree with the small crumbing forward, but the 2 we had have either walked or been delisted, although I didn't class Weedon as a small crumbing forward. The x factor is missing mainly because Naitanui and Wellingham are missing, so we did see a need and go after that need, in terms of Wellingham.
I also agree with the mid sized defender stockpile though, we have loved them for a few years.

The problem is we have a mid sized defender stockpile, which we don't actually use. Same with defensive midfielders.

I could understand having a stockpile if we actually took advantage of the depth.

Instead A Selwood, Butler and Embley seem to be almost never dropped and come straight back into the team from any layoff.

Im annoyed that Hurn is just allowed to be tagged out of games. I understand Hurn needs to do something to free himself up, but after all he is still a defender and has to be responsible for his man. So why is nothing else done to try and change this?

It really is the repetitiveness of the issues. They don't seem to be addressed and always show up. Whats worse is when the opposition know these weaknesses and prey on them.

The fact that you were dropped in a Final by Malthouse, does that now make you soft in making the hard call in terminating your players careers? Even when clearly they have been past it for a number of years?

Jones, Flether, Stinger, Hansen, and Lynch are all premireship players who have all had their time at the club cut short. That's just off the top of my head.

If you're going to start silly threads like this, name the players you want out and who we have to replace them.

Looking at our injury list and the fact Newman was dropped from the WAFL last week, we have players such as Hutch, Wilson (a not fast medium defender), Ash Smith (remember how everyone loved it when he was shit in the derby?), Dick (comming back from 101 reconstructions), Brown (KPD who is < Emac and is a failure as a forward), Lycett (remember his game in round 1? people wanted him delisted), McInnes (played well last round in the WAFL but the week before got 6 possessions in the first half and 0 in the second, is also a KPP), and a Melbourne reject in Morton to come into the side.

I might have missed one, but c'mon who should be in the side?

Think Wilson should be in for his kicking skills tbh.

I think it's quite possible that Worsfold is backing players based on their performances from years ago, rather than weeks ago. When a new coach comes to a club, the first thing that happens is reputations become worthless and players are picked on merit. Maybe this is what we need, I don't know. I'd be very reluctant to move Worsfold on.

The fact is, we haven't had a silky, fast defender since Wirrpanda. They obviously don't grow o trees, but have any attempts been made to rectify this problem? It seems we expect Hurn to be the only means of moving the ball out of defense.

I would - and I'm not the only one - have thought it was obvious that we need ed leg speed in defence to combat Carlton

He wouldn't have had ten bounces on smith.

Afaik that game was lost at the selection table with a selwood.

And the fact that the team as a whole got the kicking yips.

And the fact that woosha always seems to be out coached by malthouse. Always sits like a deer in the headlights against uncle mick. Mick moves his team around to do the most damage and we sit there and take it.

For me the most disappointing eagles performance in years. Our season is an uphill struggle from here.

I can't think of a single player in wafl who is performing better thAn we have in firsts. So what's the problem? You can't force players to be better . Fans also think that if they haven't seen someone play, then coaches also haven't and therefore coaches should give "player x a go".
