Well this is the 1st long term rebuild the west coast eagles are going through. An actual rebuild where they will spend 5 or 6 years in a row not making finals .

This isn't a plug and play mini rebuild of 2000-01 or 2008-10 or 2013-4.

How'd the two midfields stack up the other week when they played? Casting aside that the entire rest of the Carlton team is utter dross at the moment.

Hewett has been excellent all year, really stepping up. TDK is obviously elite and I think the #1 ruck in the league. Weitering has been solid as always. Silvani has worked his arse of.

That's about it.

Walsh has been bog average, and while Cripps and Cerra are getting it, they have been largely ineffective. The rest just aren't that good.

What stood out last night was 2 things: their skills and their speed. They are constantly missing easy target by both hand and foot, especially the guys mentioned above. When it looks like their is a chance to counter attack, a target is missed and the play grinds out to a stoppage. They are excruciatingly slow

Something is seriously wrong with their development, their attitudes or their training methods. Or all of the above.

The top liners are performing well under their best and the rest are crap.

We didn't have Worpel who gets close to 10 clearances a week so that helped you guys immensely. We got much cleaner clearances on the night anyway. Apart from TDK everything else was just scrubbed forward or hacked anywhere. You can take those clearances every day of the week.

According to what? Our core 4 mids + TDK combined for 38 clearances compared to the Hawks 26.

U has an extra at the stoppage go watch it again. We didn't care because u weren't very damaging getting it. We did equalise the situation early in second but went back to a spare outside after that.

That just shows how much the Carlton mids butcher the ball. What did those stats actually achieve …… not scoreboard pressure!

How were those same stats in rd22 last year? When it really mattered for both sides to make finals the Hawks pumped the Blues in 70+ points. Those same stats would be interesting.
