It's a question. You keep bringing up Mexico like it's a bad thing. It's an American analogy but it's not a very good one because in the America's there are about 20 countries south of Mexico but only like 2 countries north of them.
Plus it's like saying that Carlton is the United States. So does that make Carlton "Americaaa" or are you just saying Mexico is a bad place.

Fielding the TWO least deserving teams to qualify for finals:
1. Qualifying from 9th in 2013;
2. Qualifying in 8th in 2024, courtesy of double up games against two teams that win a total of 5 games between them, and progressing to go 0 and 60 in the Elimination Final.

Collingwood were crap in 2024 but so where Carlton. But Carlton supporters keep banging on about last year's finish. They are all acting like finishing 8th was a "great success". Our side was poor but at least we can say that we didn't get double up games against any of the truly woeful teams in the bottom 3. Carlton got both Richmond and North 2 times which made up almost a third of their total wins.

The average age of the Australian population is 38.3 which means that most Carlton supporters have only seen 1 Carlton flag in their life time and there is a large chunk who have seen 0. However most of them have seen 5 spoons. Compare that to Collingwood supporters who have seen 2-3 flags and 1 spoon.
For some reason on big footy we only hear from the 70 year old Carlton supporters who have seen 6 flags. My guess is that there ain't many young Carlton supporters now days. Who would want to put up with the crap Carlton dish up in the modern era.

It is no coincidence that since the AFL has been a bit more professional and ceased the use of brown paper bags, Carlton have......well been Carlton and have won zero.
Even when they tried to cheat with the whole Visy-Judd thing, they got nowhere.

What is it with Calton and paper??

Since the turn of the century, Carlton have been as successful as St Kilda, Freo, Adelaide, North, GWS and Gold Coast.
All the big guns .

Even St Kilda, Adelaide and GWS have at least made it to a GF in that time, so they are still more successful than Carlton.
Carlton was so scared of the Y2K bug, that they haven't been seen since.

I dont mind Collingwood missing the odd finals campaign, as I know how rare it is.
It is nearly as rare as Carlton making finals.
A Carlton flag is like Halley's Comet. Both yet to be seen this century and not likely anytime soon.
