No I havent seen it, but I have watched several reviews of it, its incredible the rating its received on IMDB. I have seen some poor ratings over the many years following IMDB but nothing at this level for a major movie release.

Ive been following the off screen drama with this movie for a few years, there is no doubt that Rachel Zegler sabotaged the film with a budget of approximately $300M. Literally committed career suicide in the process as well. Weird, weird.
If i saw this movie on a plane id still walk out

Oblivion (2013)

Saw it mentioned here that it was under rated and I never remembered hearing about it. Hoping it was a forgotten Edge of Tomorrow kind of film.

But it's not. It's pretty shit to be honest. It rips off The Matrix and a dozen other films whilst never finding it's own identity.

Dont waste 2 hours of your time. 3/10.

Yep. Found it boring as bat shit.

3/10 is a generous score

Zegler being Latin
And having an opinion, is my guess.

Snowflake conservatives going rank as usual - but that’s just my guess.

Haven’t read or seen anything about it.

A Working Man (2025)

Jason Statham is an ex-Royal Marine, now in construction, who rescues his boss's teenage daughter after she gets kidnapped. There's not much of a plot, more of a series of cliched scenes thrown together. He's in a custody battle for his own daughter. Idiot Russian gangsters in bad clothes. Night clubs. Drug dealing bikers. Bent cops. An old army colleague who helps him. It's ok if you just want a brain off action movie but with a few tweaks to the script it could have been better.

4/10

Whiplash… JK Simmons is superb as an arseh*le jazz music teacher who toys with the lives and feelings of his students in order to unearth rare talent, such as Miles Teller’s. The ending seems almost counterintuitive but I think it goes a lot deeper than how it appears on the surface. It made jazz music and music schools enthralling, so 9/10.

No.... His full response is a pretty fair summary... Odd to cherry pick just that part, just to lable critisicm of the film as 'Snowflake conservatives going rank as usual"

Basically shitting on the original movie made in 1937 was really poor form, its a genuine beloved classic loved by generations. She alienated the majority of people with her strong negative attitude and stance on that, which was compounded by her political stance and the alleged animosity with her costars didnt help the situation either.

Thats not even getting into the 7 dwarfs issue either or Gal Gadot serving in the Israeli Army.

While Snow White being portrayed by a Polish/Colombian American may not have been everyone's cup of tea, it is a special kind of stupid to think that alone that was the reason the movie tanked. The movie overall is of a genuine poor standard. IMDB/Rotten Tomatoes does correct itself over time, regardless of trolls. This will not be the case with this movie. Lets not forget The Little Mermaid portrayed by a black girl had a similar controversy at the time, the movie still rated well and was generally well received and loved by many. So to insinuate that Zegler being Latin is the reason the movie failed is ironically a scapegoat in itself used to justify why it failed. It wasnt.

Having the Dwarves as CGI was pretty egregious. In addition to Peter Dinklige coming out and saying they shouldn't use dwarf actors. Easy to say when you have GOT money, and you want to rob dwarf actors of potential acting roles in a high budget disney movie.

The Retirement Plan - Prime

Another in a long long long line of old men who used to be ex-3letter agency being forced to save someone

This ones not terrible - actually its Nicolas Cage thats terrible - without Cage its a passable comedic actioner that helps pass the time when you dont want to think

With Cage - and I know it could be me - its let down by his character he chose to be

It gets convoluted in the middle but is resolved at the end

I hope Nic paid off more of his tax bill

While not amazing, honestly think it's way better than Edge of Tomorrow which is consistently overrated IMO.

A Complete Unknown (2024)

As a huge Bob Dylan fan, I have been waiting for an autobiographical film like this. Especially tackling that night at Newport when Dylan went electric and caused a meltdown in the Folk community. I have read a great deal about it and have always thought it would make an excellent movie. This movie delivered on all fronts. Timothée Chalamet gave an Oscar-worthy performance as Bob Dylan. The entire film was very nuanced, and there was a great deal beneath the surface to consider. All the actors put in great performances, and I loved how they used Dylan's relationship with Woodie Guthrie (a true American Folk singing hero) to bookend the movie. 9/10 (Outstanding)

Damn, is this movie becoming BigFooty Canon™️? I swear every review on here is glowing. Should probably watch it soon. Plus I love Bob Dylan.

Re: the canon, it would be fun to create a list of the most consensus bigfooty movies somehow... that would require time and organisation skills though 🥲

Black Bag (2025)

An understated British spy movie by Steven Soderbergh. I usually like Michael Fassbender but he's robotic in this. The plot is complex but it's told mostly through dialog, almost like a stage play. There are no characters that you get invested in, so it all feels very flat.

5/10

Could be a fun Letterboxd list Sketi

The Little Rascals

We're enjoying our Sunday classic movie mornings in the Betts household, although this one didn't get as good a reaction as Sandlot did. My 5 year old rated it 9/10 (mostly for the dog, Buckwheat and Porky) but my 7 year old only gave it a 3/10. They both were extremely embarrassed by the 'love' storyline between Alfalfa and Darla.

I'd completely forgotten about the Trump cameo, too. Jumpscare.
