On The Couch put up a table last night that had Bont ranked as the #1 player in the league this year.

His season to R14 was the #2 highest ranked since the system came into effect in 2010. Only GAJ in 2014 was higher.

Every other player in the top 5 ultimately finished top 2 in the Brownlow that year (3 1sts, 1 2nd - GAJ x3, Dangerfield).
 
I reckon Bobby Hill is a little hard done by in Mark of the Week. He features once and will surely win this weeks round. I thought he had 2 of the best 3 marks of the round, however. Kruger and Daniher were so so. Hill had first and second imo.

JUST in case the star-studded Western Bulldogs midfield wasn't powerful enough, Ed Richards has well and truly stamped his claim as a breakout star this season.

The 24-year-old played the first 108 games of his career off the half-back flank, providing a spark out of defence and a steady head under pressure.

It's lazy from a normally good journalist - while drafted in defence Richards played his early career across the wing and half forward!

For instance, Richards had just 9 rebound 50's from 17 games in the 2020 season, while having 42 inside 50's.

It's a little thing but getting facts right is part of the job!

I believe the AFL are investigating a flurry of text messages between Charlie and his brother just before the incident. Yes, you read that correctly, the AFL are investigating text messages between a non best 22 dogs player......and his brother.

I may or may not be making this up.

Disposals​

Gun midfielder Adam Treloar (451) is enjoying a fine run of form this season, averaging a career-best 32.2 disposals. Not only is he finding plenty of the footy, but also using it extremely well at 72.5% efficiency. Treloar also leads the league for total disposals and average disposals at this point of the season.

Marks​

Defender Bailey Dale (96) leads the way for marking after 14 games, highlighting his aerial ability in the back-half. Averaging a career-high 6.9 marks per match, Daleā€™s best outing to date came against St Kilda in Round 6 ā€“ clunking 15 marks at Marvel.

Tackles​

Clearances​

The skipper Marcus Bontempelli is also the current clubhouse clearance king, with 89 total clearances. His average 6.4 is a little under Tom Liberatoreā€™s 9.5, but with 43 of those 89 being centre clearances, is helping his teammates get out of the middle quickly and effectively.

Goals​

He's actually a legend. Who cares if he was a bit pissed and jumped the fence? He'll face the consequences, but calling someone a brain-dead nuffy and an embarrassment to his family without knowing them is just ignorant and presumptuous.

If anything it's just poor journalism by Tom Morris to even mention Charlie and Brayden's names in the post.
