The public discourse around IV is so interesting, I remember finding it such a step back from SA (which is admittedly my favourite in the series).

I Must admit, the story of SA was bloody good as well.
However, the engine improvement of IV helps a lot.
They maximised the engine in SA and turned out a beauty, but it has aged, a lot.

CJ's relationship with Sweet was very interesting, along with Kendl. The gang wars added a great element.

IV had great side characters though. I really liked Dwayne, and I always enjoy killing that buttwipe Playboy X.
Brucie was insufferable, and then you meet his older brother in the expansions, and you suddenly feel sorry for him as his brother monsters him.
Roman was just a pants-shitting fat bastard, but he means well, even if he is a liar.

I felt GTA IV was a more balanced ending. He loses something in the process, but doesn't really fully heal, nor does he become a mega-millionaire like CJ can - owning property and the like.

IV in its original form 16 years ago has aged pretty well, I think.

Finished Evil West on the weekend. Really surprised me, had a great time playing. Simple combat that adds layers of complexities as you level up, multiple ways to bloody destroy the monsters and vampires. Very linear game and lots of repetitive enemies especially bosses. Great way to take out it after a rough day but not much replay value. If you have GamePass grab it or get it for cheap.

Just captured the Izila outpost in FC Primal which I think is the best looking FC. Went off it for a while but hooked back in again. Unlocked every tamed beast and levelled to the max but still only 48% though.

Just started Cyberpunk (never played), Immortals of Aveam and Wolfenstein The New Colossus, so far all of them are pretty damn sweet. Getting killed a lot in Wolfenstein.

Wolfenstein is honestly an underrated shooter f you want to call it that. Brutal and an opposite to the COD story path. Gory too which is fun.

Back on the Uncharted train. Going to try and platinum all 4.

Honestly, this series is so so underrated. Always great graphics, awesome fun gameplay, pity it just missed the PS5 launch with Uncharted 4. Would be incredible to have that scaled up for PS5' 60ps graphics.

Not sure if I'm interpreting your statement correctly, but Uncharted 4 is 1440p and 60fps on PS5 in the collection.

Finished The Last of Us Part 2. I have played many games, but very few games outside of my childhood games have made me feel any strong emotions. This is one of them. Peak fiction.
Phenomenal game.

Visually stunning too.

I think I am done with Slay the Spire. No matter what build I go, I can't get past the 2nd boss using the Ironclad. This character has completely sucked the fun out of the game for me.

I've since started the Ezio collection as I think the only I've played is II.

Is that the first ascension? It does suck when you get stuck for a while. I've been stuck on A4 with the silent for a while now.

Someone here recommended a Strength build for Ironclad, that worked for me for beating it the first time.

I'm finding my runs are getting more consistent though as I learn which cards are good and how they go together.

Honestly think it will be quite a while before i'm bored of this game.

Slay the Spire

After being stuck on A4 for a while with The Silent, I've just cleared 3 levels in 4 different runs today. I'm finding it's all about getting a theme to your deck asap and building around that while only choosing cards that fit the build (and removing lots at the shop). All my wins I've had around ~25 cards. Over that and it starts to bloat and have too much going on.

Jump back into WoW Classic, Hardcore, with the fresh server fired up this last Thursday. Server is absolutely pumping with players, world feels alive and exciting, classic feels like such a passion project compared to Retail WoW and the added Hardcore danger makes you so much more invested!

I've been pretty tempted to boot up Classic on the new server. Had a blast in 2019 and then with TBC (my favourite expansion still to date) but while it was great to be back home it also wasn't the same when everyone knew what to do. Not sure hardcore would be my thing either, I'd probably be too scared to leave the starting area lol.

It certainly makes you play with an extra edge but because the community is so cooperative your name gets around if youre a particularly good healer or tank or even DPS. On my 22 Warrior I get regular whispers asking if I could tank WC etc. Its significantly more alive feeling than retail is these days!

Losing your character isnt the end of the world entirely as well, since you can free transfer them to a non-hardcore server and theres a few new classic normal servers up to.

They did make a few changes, theres a LFG tool now for finding groups but not auto queue/teleport, just old school advertise/whisper apply system. They also removed the debuff cap, so more dots! and they said they will be introducing a basic version of dual spec later down the line

Jumped back into RDR2 yesterday. Woweee
I’ve been holding out for years for a 60fps patch for this.

It’s frustrating because Digital Foundry recently hacked the PS4 version and unlocked the frame rate on the ps5 and it runs at a perfectly smooth 60fps. The hardware is more than capable.
Piss poor from rockstar to be honest.

They are obviously holding out to remaster it after they release GTA6 like they did with GTA5.

Juggling these 3 right now:

Metaphor Refantazio. Fantastic.

Slay the Spire. Addictive as always. Reached Ascension 11 with Watcher.

Dead Space remake. Going through this slowly. Awesome game.
