Every time I hear Adam Simpson speak I am impressed. Reckon he would be a great addition to our club. Would be a perfect director of coaching but it seems as thought we've unofficially given that role to Rutten....

I agree, and many on here shut that down in terms of getting him to the club.

Mind you, I don’t think they are a premiership side yet, but their list is no where near as bad as you think.
where is their high end talent acquired apart from nick watson , gunston and bruest still getting games with chol as their forward line centrepiece

They have guns all over the park. Just because you don’t rate them, doesn’t mean they’re shit.

The only oldies they have are Breust and Gunston who barely play. They recruited Barrass and Battle to fill a need, rest of the team in their prime

probably the biggest bullchit post of all time on bigfooty

he also showed some kick back when asked about mansell. saying well it should follow the same result as lalor's jaw ... The AFL shouldnt change rules mid season

they said the same about our dynsaty team. One great player surrounded by some good players that played their role.
our dynasty team had jr8, chimp, dusty , rance

thats 4 generational players

hawks dont even have 1

Been impressed with Yze when facing the media. Still umm's a lot but that might be just the way he talks.
Isn't doing what he was doing last year where he didn't seem to want to clip the players when it was warranted.
Was expansive today in his presser and I enjoyed it.

He continues to bring up selection integrity and I understand that it's tough to drop any of the experienced players, but I hope he has the balls to do it this year when it's warranted because selection integrity works both ways.

Jury is still very much out.

There are some pretty significant structural issues that Brisbane exploited in earnest which I can't really figure out whether its personnel issues or coaching but the amount of ball we're allowing opposition half backs really can't continue. They far too easily get free and have time. St Kilda did the same thing and went to town with us there.

Things that have definitely improved this year is our ball use, pressure and forward structure but I think the latter is more to do with the fact Lynch actually provides a contest when we go long down the line.

When most of our team have played fewer than 30 games, you have your answer.

My view is that this is Yze's first proper year of coaching Richmond. Last year was the transition period from the Hardwick to Yze era. There were players who were merely passengers and didn't buy into Yze's game plan. Fortunately they have been let go. This year there will be ups and downs. I watched yesterday's game and although we were beaten there were a lot of positive signs and we didn't give up. He needs to be given the space and time to develop the team. If at the end of his contract he can't achieve then so be it and he goes.

I don't want our club to become the Richmond of old or Carlton where we expect immediate success and when we fail the coach is the first one to go.

It's been a long time since we sacked coaches on a regular basis. Frawley and Wallace had 5 years each then Dimma.

Yze’s contract is expiring next season. Let’s continue developing the kids skills and offer him a further two-year contract. End of that period we would have a good idea.

Dimma ****ed us with the Taranto/Hopper trades and now Yze is just playing around with the turd that Dimma left us
I see the Taranto smash kicks and the Hopper fkd up handballs that don’t hit targets
But we probably wouldn’t have the talent we’ve got if we didn’t get them.
Taranto and Hopper.
Right now they’re cannon fodder till we get stronger.
You have to build the entire team.
Look at Carlton. Two Coleman medalists an AA CHB in Weidering, an inside mid with two Brownlow’s and we’re above them on the ladder.
Cause its early but they aren’t winning a flag I don’t reckon.
I think we need those two even if it’s only to protect the younger kids.

Hardwick sh.ts me too

I'm not entirely convinced of that. It's not just a manning up or concentration thing for the forwards. Its the second week running that our opposition have been able to manufacture time and space through the middle. Yesterday Zorko, Fletcher and Wilmot all had plenty of time and space to transition the ball through the middle or running on from a kick into the middle. That to me speaks of more than just young fellas who haven't yet done enough pre season to do those big 150m gut busting sprints, I think its a structure/coaching issue and we're likely trying to manufacture too many players ahead of the ball to try and stem heavy scoring against at the expense of pressure on the ball.

I'm also still a bit unnerved by how slow our midfield mix is at the moment for long periods also and we get badly cut up when we lose clearances on the spread.

In any even there was plenty to be positive about yesterday, and I'm hopeful this is all part of the learning process. I hope you're right and we start to really shut down that damaging run and carry.
