Soligo had several games last year when he was running on the spot: he clearly has OP, or similar.
He shouldn't have been playing.
I think we need to wait for that to get fixed before we make any fundamental judgements.
One of the reasons Soligo went later in the Draft, was because he was considered ave pace

Now that’s not the be-all ….. as we have seen, Soligos ability to read the game, find space, and make smart decisions is also a big weapon

This Ladies and Gentlemen is our future premiership captain. Most impressive individual I can remember drafting. Focussed, steely resolve. Will do EVERYTHING he can for the club for success. Mature. Smart and an absolute gun footballer,

Perhaps the most excited I have been for ANY draftee since we got the rights to McLeod in 1994

I like draper, but not sure I'm that excited that we've drafted a potential elite mid.

The reason I wanted him most is his speed, power and agility for a pure mid. We have rarely had this type in our midfield and it will add dynamism.

I think he's likely a sure thing to be a high level afl player based on the above together with his two way running, tackling and professionalism. The reason I doubt he'll be in the upper echelon is that lack of class. I think he's okay with decision making and skills (not poor), but he's probably not damaging enough with his disposal and on the scoreboard.

Imo his peak status would likely be at a similar level to where I see Soligo being.

Curtin on the other hand i think could be in the elite tier.

Locking down an inside midfield role will end up going a long way to counteracting the disposal point, seeing damage from that role does tend to be more about sheer weight of numbers instead of making the most of limted opportunities. Though, of course, it could do with refinement.

The thing that will make or break Draper bid to stardom is how well the agility and explosive acceleration translate to the big leagues. If he is routinely able to generate space from stoppages with it? He'll be a star, in part because Adelaide has the forward line to make the most of those plays. If it's infrequent, he'll get capped as someone in the bottleneck of "very good, but not the top tier".

Can you even improve acceleration to the extent Soligo has shown this year? Had he shown that in his draft year he would have been selected much earlier than pick 36.

Professional Sprint training has been utilised over the years with marked improvement …. sometimes it’s running technique

A bit forced for my liking, no doubt suggested by his manager
Why was it forced?

I have no issue with him ringing potential coach... as shows initiative & that he is absolutely committed to us.

I find reading his posts drains me of energy. It was easier to click ignore.
Yes, on my list of posters I usually just skim read.

Cant recall a good post.

can see why welsh didnt finish school lol. hopefully footy works out

Drapes already said it was his idea. Also didn’t implore him. He did say how much he respects him and how much he would love to be part of the footy club. Brave maybe?
Agree is brave but it's kissing ass, these aren't natural actions that's all I meant. Even him ringing to say how much he respects nicks is a bit odd as he'd be amongst the favourite coaches to be sacked next season

Maybe Draper thought Josh Money's fake news is still in the mind of Nicks????

Yeah that's what its meant to indicate, but not exactly a natural action is it? Especially for a 17 year old, so comes across as a little scripted/forced
Keep digging.

I'm someone who encourages people to make things happen.

I like this in someone's character, so unlike you, I see it as a massive positive that he will leave no stone unturned to be successful.

Others wait for success & it never comes!

Someone like Chris judd for example complete opposite of that in terms of outward acts or Wayne carey so I think you're reading a little too much into it but good on ya kane!

I'm reading too much into it?

You were the one criticising him & trying to make a non-issue an issue!

Have a look in the mirror!
