Think Bunga is a great person to coach him. Bunga made a career as a complete defender. Lockdown all types and provided heaps with ball in hand. He might be 195cm but I don’t think Maric will be a pure key position a player but like a bunga play as that mid size defender.
Jordan Ridley is probably the right comparison to what Maric could be

Taller Sicily. Maric is 8cms taller but very similar in kicking and movements
We have so many mid sized defenders already. More than we can play.
We are lacking kp defenders.
A more intercepting / attacking Schofield 3rd tall defender? I dont think anyone knows if Maric can lock down an opponent at this stage?
A tall winger who drifts down to defense to help, and then when we have it he provides a outlet for defense to kick to?

From what little I have seen of him in the pre-season pic's he seams to have put a little bit of bulk back on.
Could be these "filters" all the clubs seem to be using this year to make everyone look like prime UFC fighters.
Anyone who has been to training and seen the guys through unfiltered lenses does he seem to have bulked up a bit?
Could he be preparing for a more physical one on one defensive roll?

Well, he is usually spotted with a Sub in hand before a game, so I reckon he goes offensive on that one.

This is maric pre mid season draft in the young guns vs VFL exhibition match playing third tall designated kicker
At 196cms now I think he will be fine unless we rotham him and make him play in the big boys

Rewatching old games, Rotham's biggest problem was the basic mistakes he made (dropped marks, missed kicks, fumbles etc). Seemed to just lack focus at times
New designated kicker to free Gov up a bit more maybe?

Great for for him and the team imo. I do think his kicking is a little over rated. Track watches might be able to tell me different. We dont have many elite kicks.
I think it's better to try and protect Gov by keeping him on kickout duties, otherwise he's at a lot more contests.
