I think Waters will be ok. It was his left elbow that he had re-constructed, and it was his right that he just knocked on the ground and was holding afterwards. Hopefully it's not too serious.
That's really good news - was wondering this....

****ing work... Been to every SA vs WC game for years, first time in a while I'm working at the same time as the game and for the first time in ****ing yonks we actually beat Port at AAMI, let alone in general. Devo

I personally think you should never go to one of our games in SA again :p

Gaff came on during the 2nd quarter last weekend. hardly when everyone is tired...Great talent

Its almost the perfect role for him at the moment. He can come on late in a game and have an impact with his run while also avoiding burning him out in his first year.

I'm pretty sure the WCE twitter is the guy on the right of inside 50.

It definitely was a great win and I'm so glad to see them running out games, even when the pressure is right on. Something that we weren't doing last year. I must admit Port were finding it a lot easier to get it out of our forward line than North were last week though. But none of the guys gave up. I honestly thought Kerr was spent in that 3rd quarter and would be subbed off but he just got better and better. Gaff has worked really well as the sub coming on and really happy with the way he's looking at the moment. Won't be long I reckon till he's pushing as a starting player!

On the highlight package for the game on the AFL site Waters is referred to as our captain not surprisingly whilst laying a great smother the type of effort that sees him in the running

A great win on the road. Skills still a concern, but four quarter effort and game plan pleasing. I like the way Cox and Naita work the flanks when the opposition kick out after a behind. Good defensive pressure I50.

Individual ratings:

Good:
- Embley: vintage display, hard run and ball use (!) a highlight
- Shuey: best young player since Judd. Seriously no-one else in the comp is so proficient on both sides. Goal kicking mid we have been desperate for
- Cox: back to his best. Covering the ground well. Showing strong leadership
- Kennedy: attack on the contest a highlight - many times he was the only Eagle in the contest and managed to bring the ball to ground
- Waters: typically courageous display. Needs to consistently hit targets
- Kerr: excellent, somewhat underrated comeback. Very brave at stoppages, threw himself at a number of contested situations. Will be better for the run
- Hurn: great rebound from half back and good in marking contests
- A. Selwood: pretty good job on Boak
- Darling: I was always keen to draft him - like his aggression at the contest, nice overhead mark and surprisingly quick over 10m
- Gaff: great run and skills. Worsfold using him well. Sub role great for long term development
- Glass: adds stability and class to the backline. Gave away a couple of silly frees though
- Rosa: performed his role well. Kicking was good too
- Priddis: solid performance. Does not get the kudos he probably deserves
- Naitanui: liked his work around the ground. Took a couple of nice marks. Looked short of full fitness and will improve
- Ebert: playing well at HF. Needs to find more of it though
- Nicoski: can see a role for him as defensive fwd. Long goals are a bonus
- M. Brown: looks a new player down back. Likely to keep EMac out for awhile. Plenty of upside in my view
- McGinnity: good job on Pearce. Horses for courses proposition going forward in my view
- Scooter: better on wing than HBF

Poor:
- Sheppard: Sorry to say because I really like the kid. Kicking was down and was beaten in the contest
- Schofield: mixes good with bad. A number of costly clangers
- Lynch: surplus to our needs. Should be dropped once Naita is back to full fitness

Just got to watch a replay of the game after not getting a chance this afternoon.

So how did "mcginnihack" go? Warrant his selection? Thought Pearce dominated the game personally.

Embley, Shue, Cox and Kennedy were fantastic.

When we win next week - i'm going early on us being premiership favourites :D

I thought he did a good job actually. Pearce only had 17 disposals and 1 goal. Far from dominated and didn't really have a huge impact. As mentioned in other threads McGinnity also went by hand twice as much as by foot so he did his job. :thumbsu:
