Probably not, some of it maybe Ukrainian mischief in Russia. The other day I thought one reason Ukraine might be delaying the commitment of its main force was if they knew trouble was brewing within Russia. If they has some inkling that events like this were going to destabilise Russia then waiting would be wise. There have also been those odd connections between Ukraine and Prigozhin. Interesting times.
Yeah was a bit conspiratorial, but study weird time.

Some videos now on twitter, none confirmed real

If true I seen this coming about a month ago. While Prigohzin and the Russian army have never been on good terms, the Russian army laying traps (mines) and shooting at the Wagner troops when trying to remove them crossed a line. Not to mention Prigohzin taking Russian soldiers as hostages as a result and publicising it.

There was never any coming back from that.

Even if this information isn't true, it will be creating paranoia and feed into distrust which could make it a self fulfilling prophecy.

Vasily Golubev, the Governor or Rostov, made this statement:
Dear countrymen! The current situation requires the maximum concentration of all forces to maintain order. Law enforcement agencies are doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of residents of the area. I ask everyone to stay calm and do not leave the house without the need. [TG Post]

Guardian.

Prigozhin claims his forces have downed Russian helicopter
Pjotr Sauer

Prigozhin claimed in an audio message that Wagner shot down a Russian helicopter that opened fire on the convoy near the southern city of Rostov.

He did not provide evidence to support the claim.

Earlier, locals in Rostov reported that military helicopters were flying over the city.

Even without a coup, Russia's poor supply lines may well be interrupted until Wagner/RFs sort their mess out. Ukraine will hit soft targets and isolate RF in pockets around front lines. There will be classic Oblique Order maneuvers to pick those pockets off.

So what's going on? Has the coup started yet? Is Putin going to be whacked?
To be honest there's a LOT of media around suddenly and Prigozhin is definitely making the statements. We're just not sure if anything's actually happening. Two regional governors have now made comment suggesting residents don't stray far from home. There have been various media blackouts in Russia. And we're just waiting for something more concrete.

There's argument the video of the Wagner camp being destroyed might be fake. But it seems to be a mix of some real, some embellished, some fake, and so on.

Yes bit confusing at the moment.
But if, and admittedly a big if, Rostov fell to Wagner troops that would be a crushing blow to Putin and the Russian army's prestige

For sure. I have a gut feeling they aren't even intending to take Rostov. I think they're just passing through it. But I'm just rambling.

Guardian.

Prigozhin has claimed his Wagner forces left Ukraine and were entering the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don.

He made the claim in a voice message early on Saturday, without offering evidence.
They've been reported to be around Novoshakhtinsk (a bit north of Rostov, near Shakhty), where they encountered RF defence, spoke with them, and then continued north!

Wow. Can anyone give a TLDR version of how these two groups have come to now reportedly be enemies? Fingers crossed this puts an end to the invasion.
Vodka.

Nah really it's just individuals with their own empire building designs clashing - that's my best one-sentence take. Russia demanded Prigozhin signed the Wagner troops over to the RF. Prigozhin had already been endlessly arguing that the RF was nobbling them and making decisions which they thought were bad, and this straw seemed to break the camel's back. (all my own surmising)

The governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, announced the "strengthening of security measures in the region":

“Particular attention will be paid to critical infrastructure facilities. In addition, residents of the region are now advised to stop traveling to the south, in particular, to the (neighboring - ed.) Voronezh region.

Friends, recent events have excited us all. But I ask everyone to remain calm and trust information only from official sources.”

Artamonov became the second, after the Rostov, head of the region to comment on Prigozhin's rebellion.
