Current WAR CRIMES Israel - * ICC issues warrants for Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu & Yoav Gallant & for Hamas's Mohammed Deif

The ICC has also issued a warrant for Hamas leader Mohammed Deif, who Israel says they have killed.

According to the ICC, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that Deif was “responsible for the crimes against humanity of murder; extermination; torture; and rape and other form of sexual violence; as well as the war crimes of murder, cruel treatment, torture; taking hostages; outrages upon personal dignity; and rape and other form of sexual violence”.

It also said there were reasonable grounds to believe the crimes against humanity were “part of a widespread and systematic attack directed by Hamas and other armed groups against the civilian population of Israel”.

For Netanyahu and Gallant, who was replaced as defence minister earlier this month, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that they “each bear criminal responsibility for the following crimes as co-perpetrators for committing the acts jointly with others: the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”.

It also found reasonable grounds to believe that “each bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population”.

Let me guess, you didn't read or understand the definitions of damaged by your beloved UN.

Nice avoidance of the facts though.
Photos of current Gaza shows quite a few tiles missing.

Strong argument Zev, I'm keen to see where you go with this one. I assume you'll soon be changing the definition of what is a building

I am for a two state solution. You seem to be arguing that Palestine doesn't have an unimpeachable right to exist.

Correct. That doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.

Can historians and others dispassionately argue that Palestine should instead be moved to Germany?

Why?

Even Germany has a right to exist after starting two world wars and a holocaust, but Jews can't have their own country because their neighbours keep starting and then losing wars against them. Okay.

This is nuffy level sloganeering. Zionists were cleansing and massacring Palestinians happily before any feeble attempt at intervention. Israel invaded Egypt in 1956, and again in 1967.

Some Jews have. Jews in general do not, yet they all have historic and cultural ties to what is now Israel.

As do Palestinians. But you think Jews should get to cleanse them from the land in order to create a Jewish supremacist apartheid state. Why do you think that's fair?

Lol I knew it would set you off. Like when I called Hezbollah paper tigers did for some reason.

I thought you would have been a huge fan of Israel's military campaign against being blockaded. Sometimes blockades can justify an October 7th style attack on civilians under UNGA 37/43, but not a military campaign? Israeli freedom fighters escaped their 1950s open air prison and all that.

If we are telling one sided versions Arabs were massacring Jews long before the creation of Israel. The two people weren't getting along. A two state solution was proposed which the Jews accepted and arabs rejected and started a war they lost badly. Israel isn't an apartheid state. Millions of Arabs are a part of Israel now with equal rights under law.

ZEV is so far mask-off now he's even onboard with Netanyahu and co's vendetta against the UN.

They don't always get it right, remember when they appointed Iran's envoy as Chair to the human rights council in Geneva.

Christians were massacring Jews. Jews probably massacred Canaanites.

It's almost like massacring people in revenge for past wrongs isn't a good long-term solution.

Nothing short of the complete and total genocide of the Gazan population is going to stop the next iteration of Hamas from reappearing if nothing else changes. There's a generation of young Palestinians watching the IDF commit mass murder on a daily basis against their friends and family.

The Israeli Government has chosen war crimes. The all too predictable outcome of which will be more civilian deaths on both sides.

You think? It's almost like October 7th was an unjustified act of terror with no possible benefit. Given Israel's neighbour Hamas are constantly trying to exterminate them, what should Israel's response to October 7th have looked like? You guys don't even like the blockade imposed on Gaza. Should the response have been to remove the blockade as well as any other effective control they have over Gaza, and allow Hamas to bring in whatever weapons of destruction they like, and just hope and pray they don't actually follow through with their charter to kill Jews and destroy Israel? (Before you say it's the old charter, it hasn't been revoked, their new PR charter hasn't replaced the old one and fools nobody given their actions).

Same could have been said about a next generation of Germans under Nazi rule. This is not only after the carpet bombing of Germany, but also with a campaign of mass rape against them from the USSR. This could easily have radicalised Germans. It didn't happen though. Have faith that the next generation of Palestinians in Gaza will correctly portion a large amount of the blame on Hamas and realise their terror tactics brought nothing but death and destruction on their people.

Hopefully they will find a new way of living beside Israel that doesn't involve mass murder of civilians.

Jazny inserts usual waffle that's been argued for 18 months.

We get it, you seem to think Israel aren't 'really' doing anything wrong. Maybe an oopsie here or there where they cross a line. But really. Hamas made them do it.

Never has a nation state been less reponsible for their own actions than Israel.

ahem:

if nothing else changes

People learned from the sanctions on Germany post WWI and did something different post WW2. Leading to a different outcome.

Israel's lesson appears to be 'more war crimes needed'.

Generally terrorist non-state actor, who are responsible for needlessly starting a war due to their genocidal ideology and susbequent mass atrocity, more liable than the state that defends itself from that threat. That's how sensible people think. None of it excuses war crimes on the behalf of the defending state. But if I have to choose who is responsible for the war, it's not even close. It's Hamas, then daylight, then Israel.

Never has a terrorist organisation been less accountable for their actions. Remember the UNGA 37/43 defense? Any means necessary, apparently. Poor little Hamas are justifiably committing a mass atrocity, they are a freedom fighting rape enabling organisation, what do you expect them to do when they break out of their open air prison, guys? Poor Hamas :embarrassedv1::thumbsu: It's the IDF's fault for putting the rave in their way, what other military in the world wouldn't go on a mass killing spree if they came across a rave unexpectedly? They can't help it because their fifis are sore.

Have you sent the letter to the ICC explaining to them that Zombie Deif is innocent because UNGA resolutions override international law, and therefore rape, extermination and murder are just the available means Hamas had of overcoming occupation under 37/43?

From Netanyahu to Jazny, Zombie Deif will live rent free.

I see we're back to 'lol people are defending Hamas' stage of the argument.

No one is supporting Hamas. We all think they're a terrorist organsation.

Meanwhile, the ICC have literally issued arrest warrants for the head of the Israeli state for war crimes and there's still half a dozen people in this thread defending Israel's actions.

Some were late to acknowledge Hamas as a terrorist organisation whose interests aren't in protecting their people, I think we can admit this without losing anything?

I can only think of one poster that might fall in to that category. Mostly it's just trying to pretend those of us appalled at Israel's war crimes are Hamas supporters for <reasons>.

All of the arguments I mockingly made were actual arguments put forward by people in this very thread.
