The ICC has also issued a warrant for Hamas leader Mohammed Deif, who Israel says they have killed.

According to the ICC, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that Deif was “responsible for the crimes against humanity of murder; extermination; torture; and rape and other form of sexual violence; as well as the war crimes of murder, cruel treatment, torture; taking hostages; outrages upon personal dignity; and rape and other form of sexual violence”.

It also said there were reasonable grounds to believe the crimes against humanity were “part of a widespread and systematic attack directed by Hamas and other armed groups against the civilian population of Israel”.

For Netanyahu and Gallant, who was replaced as defence minister earlier this month, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that they “each bear criminal responsibility for the following crimes as co-perpetrators for committing the acts jointly with others: the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”.

It also found reasonable grounds to believe that “each bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population”.

Literally what he did.

Well, not really.

Notice how it doesn't say it's occupied the same way as the West Bank and East Jerusalem? It makes the distinction. Israel is the occupying power in the West Bank, but Gaza Israel just has obligations under the laws of occupation that are commensurate to its effective control (mostly, but not entirely, related to the blockade).

I am fine with the OPT being referred to as the OPT, there is a strong legal argument that Gaza remains occupied

No, you just insist it's blockaded instead of occupied.
You quote me, but then assert I said something else. Kind of weird this whole argument chain is only happening because you mistakenly think "It's more accurate to think of Gaza as blockaded" means "I insist Gaza is blockaded and in no way could be considered occupied under any legal framework".

Notice how in the same post I start by saying "Gaza is not considered occupied in the traditional sense, Israel's responsibility is commensurate to the extent they have effective control"

I did not say "Gaza could not be considered occupied at all". The status of Gaza post withdrawal is not settled, but under the functional model the ICRC and ICJ take, Israel has some responsibilities toward Gaza under the laws of occupation.

I wish you just did the 10 minutes of googling you think it takes to understand this stuff rather than waste my time.

They can all rot in a cell together.

I've had my reaction privileges revoked, so:

😂

Tens of thousands of innocents murdered and all you care about is your b@tthurt. Sit and spin, *

A little bit of casual homophobia in addition to your anti-semitism, no wonder you align so easily with Hamas ideology.

I'm merely pointing out, it's ridiculous you call it blockaded at all. No one anywhere considers Palestine to be blockaded. Calling it blockaded is a deliberate attempt to lessen the severity of the atrocities enacted by Israel currently.
BTW, no one here is disputing the occupation is occurring in the traditional format. This isn't the 1960s, tech and military might has come a long way and boots on the ground is no longer a necessary function of an occupation. Hence evey western nation considers it to be occupied territory. Well, except Trump.

Now let's see if Albanese sides with the ICC or Australia's political Zionists.

Oh well, google can help you out.

Similarly though, about nobody thought Hamas and cohorts committed unspeakable acts of sexual violence and mass rape against women and men on October 7 but there it is. The outrage at the suggestion was wild.

What's also there, is that it was systematic.

Surprise eh ..

Lots of people thought Hamas committed sexual violence. It was across all media outlets and most nation state leaders referenced and denounced it.

I've never seen such hardcore denial actually, from the people and high profile commentators over social media.

There will be a case I imagine to examine, whether those outright denials and totally ****ed up claims of debunking allegatlions of rape and horrific acts of sexual violence were antisemitic.

So destructive.

Anyone more high profile than the USA president?

I need more social media obviously. I never saw any high profile denials.

You need not bother using Biden, who was accused of speaking for the Israeli lobby every time
So when you say no one thought Hamas committed SV crimes, you're excluding the denouncement of the most powerful man in the world on the world's most popular media outlets. Interesting take.

Biden botched the delivery, you know it and I know it. Nobody at that point was listening to anything he said anyway and if they did, it was to call him a puppet for Israel.
