Both down I thought. Baker was outmuscled by bigger and harder running boys. Miller in and out with not much impact. How was Millers and Bakers games ?.
Are they fearing the worst for Markov?
Pissweak shitful comment.Lol anyone who thinks Cellis should play seniors check out that last play.... Piss weak shitful player
Wouldn't be against him playing a role similar to Goodes. Utility wingman who can go anywhere.
Was Rioli's ankle injury the same foot?
Yeah she made her presence felt in the last half...went overboard with the home ground advantage bias frees...effectively killed the game for us...I was watching the match and my god there was no flow in the game because of so many free kicks against us, especially soft ones. 30-13 free kicks was extremely frustrating.
The one that stood out to me was Balta's fantastic body work to take a mark and the female ump paid push in the back against him. The other (I can't remember the player) tackled a Williamstown player by the jumper and same ump called sling tackle even though the Williamstown player didn't even land dangerously.
There was also a paid mark which was barely a mark if anyone remembers that one too, and she paid it. The commentators even said there was a few questionable calls in today's game.
Sorry for the rant. Was just incredibly frustrated
Injured his back not sure how long hes out for.Just watching the game obviously missed Milesys inside work and Brandon Wood too. Wood has been a really important part of the team with his clearance work in the midfield at 185 cm 93kg is a big body that’s been missed.
Our boyccj well done young man
Negatives are negatives no matter how you address them sir.TigerImposter more people would probably listen to what you have to say about Corey Ellis if you didn’t blow all the negatives way out of proportion if you want to make him look bad just comment when he is obviously bad don’t try and turn everything he does into a failure
He was part of some great plays working through traffic during the 2nd and 3rd quarters and disposed of the ball cleanly. Picked out targets moving forward well and was one of the few players who actually played people into space rather than handballing to a bloke who is about to get mounted by 4 oppo players. 24p and 4 tackles says fairly good in a side that was severely outgunned in the middle.
No no and NO
I reckon the boys should take Cellis out to the strippers. Go out and get wild.
Agreed, being at the game today, noah was virtually being coached by some of the players esp in the 1st quarter, even when they had warm up b4 the game daniel rioli was instructing noah which point post to aim at when practicing goal kicking , noah is an amazing athlete with great skills, but has a long way to go before he reads the game well enough for seniorsPeople need to realise the step up from VFL to AFL is not bloody easy.
A seasoned campaigner like Miles who averages big numbers at VFL was exposed Friday night by the speed and heavy hitting contests. Balta and Garthwaite against Geelong is insanity.
Negatives are negatives no matter how you address them sir.
He has no hurt factor with his inside work and I reckon he shouldn’t be playing on the ball unless he has some solid inside citizens around him. I don’t care about possession counts, but intent and attack on the ball. He only had two i50 and was put out of range where he could have been damaging around better quality small forwards . I think Collins gifted him and us easy disposals in the back half as they just set up in the back half and set up lot of their runs. They clearly had a game plan. He needs to get in the ring with Townsend and learn to get some fight and animosity into him. Townsend doesn’t touch the ball as often , but he makes them pay in some way or another.
Still introverted on and off the field and needs to show leadership as he’s just lingering atm. No way is he close to getting a game , but closer to being delisted. Good luck to him and I hope he finds some grunt in him.
Finally he will not be gifted this space at AFL level just as Miles found out bc of a massive lack of pace. He’s in Ben Lennon zone. I’m dying to see the stats on their MF especially at the stoppages bc we got torched. Marcon went off for them at HT , yet we still got beaten in the guts.
I think you need to look at his inside game. I have no issues with his ability to dish off and create by foot and hands at VFL, but unless he brings are harder edge to his game he will continue to be found out at AFL level. The club knows this and this is why he’s still lingering in the twos and trying to learn his craft into his fourth year. The club obviously are seeing what I’m seeing glasses or not. He threw himself at the ball bc he couldn’t win the ball and with Lloyd they were beaten by solid stand-alone citizens such as Wheeler Cavarro Marcon and another kid whose name has left me. They won the hard ball , ran and carried all day and beat them for spread even when Marcon was off for a half. That last smother by Ellis happened in front of me where seconds before it he was yelled at by a player to get into the contest. He was ball watching and only triggered bc of his action. Corey’s meh 24 pos game will translate to a 10-12 ineffective one at AFL just like it has in the past. He was smashed where it counted today and gave us no inside drive. He’s too slow to rebound or carry and has to dish off ASAP bc he will easily be mowed down , so he’s just a poor VFL HBF / mid at best . I will inform you once I see anything of silky levels from him , but don’t hold your breath as we need respectful ,balanced and intelligent posters like you on here as it would be a shame to lose you from Oxygen deprivation. Love all your work you do on here and I hope you’re right on this matter in the long term , but atm I feel like Vo Rogue and am about 12 lengths in front with 200m to go.Guess we are wearing different colour shades
What I saw of him today was attacking the ball and throwing himself at the contest and working through traffic well against a team that beat us fair and square ( should’ve been by more) on the day.
I think he actually stepped up because he managed to still do the right things even without our key extractor in there and our other accumulator (Lloyd) being worn like a glove all day. He wasn’t just racking up cheapies he was providing an option in the contest and working the ball and our plays through traffic.
Maybe the whole board should go out to Specsavers on a BigFooty sponsored trip and all get a pair of the same tinted glasses and see if our opinions are all the same still

So you’re now telling me he will slider further down the pecking order? PoohThe club have been giving him a decent score card, so we’ll see how he goes. He wouldn’t have been any worse than our bottom six on the weekend against Port (but that’s not saying much).
Our midfield was down in the VFL (a symptom of our injuries in AFL), so the balance and depth in there meant everyone’s job became harder. Much like Graham and co having a tougher time when Prestia, etc miss games.
Got half a season to go before we need to chop so let’s hope he becomes something
So you’re now telling me he will slider further down the pecking order? Pooh
You’re ****en kidding , is that right . Someone’s needs to read these campaigners the riot act Ffs we re stumping up half the competition and get treated like this. A weekend boycott to prove a point is growing legs if something isn’t done. Not sure that bad but it was bloody funny. Told him he spoke to the wrong umpires pre game as he never spoke to her.
