Stop and Go or who ever blocks off a lane ..
Not enough warning the lanes blocked off ....give drivers a decent warning not a 100 metres..
Noithing wrong with the road it self ..they working on the side of the road and temp fence put in place.
Then after work open the road up esp busy road cut down to one lane near busy round about...
Shirley it can be done better.

Then coming back the other way it's down to 40ks.
I don't think any work was being done on that side hi way.

Good afternoon to all except the driver who blocked several drivers from being able to go through their green light because they were too impatient to stay behind their white line while traffic was clogged up in front of them.

This happens at my train station. Sometimes you have to wait 4 or 5 red lights before someone does the right thing and stay behind the line

Happened really only once to me. Trying to do a right hand turn onto a freeway and the road on the other side was clogged seemed like due to a breakdown or accident. Took over 10 minutes to get on the freeway because the selfish assholes on the other side kept blocking the intersection

Its illegal.
I find it frustrating that they always let it slide.

Seems that because its only blocking traffic and not necessarily dangerous, no-one gets booked for it.

"
Current penalties for blocking an intersection attract three demerit points and a $165 fine. Under Victorian road rule 128, 'A driver must not enter an intersection or crossing when the intersection or crossing is blocked or the road beyond the intersection or crossing is blocked."

I've been close to doing it- like the traffic without warning just stops and you get stuck. Thankfully theyve moved up, or ive been able to change lanes to prevent blocking the intersection

There used to be a dangerous rail crossing near me. When the barrier went up the cars all started to go through assuming the road was clear. Trouble was there was a right turn into a servo about 20m further up. You would get cars stopping in the right lane to do the turn which often meant some cars would be backed up on the train tracks. I reported it to the local police station and the cop was like "people shouldn't be driving across unless the exit is clear." I told him "well people do and one day there's going to be a disaster." I don't know if he followed it up but a while later they installed a strip to prevent the right turn.

Yeah that is very dangerous.

Also- zebra crossings at ****ing roundabouts. Gotta be looking in fooking every single direction. So stupid.

Exactly, if they had a crossing 50m up each road it would work ok for 90% of pedestrians.
( It might annoy a few who live right near the roundabout , but hey, they are less likely to be run over ).

Think I mentioned in here previously, but Collins Street in Melbourne CBD is notoriously bad for this, pedestrians will not stop for red man and traffic is banked up, 3-4 cars will turn right in to Collins despite nowhere to go and block intersection. No one can get through on Collins and next light sequence they’re blocking all traffic headed south. .

Meant to post about this recently, came up to a crossing and traffic was banked up on other side so waited till it moved then went across. Taxi behind me didn’t wait and followed me, but only 1 car had moved so he was stuck on the train line. Was watching in mirror his eyes darting left and right, petrified then cars moved and he was able to get clear.

I’ll always sit back at train lines to make sure it’s clear, but sometimes at peak hour you can get caught out because the car in front decides to leave 2-3 car lengths in front of them.

Certain zebra crossings worry me, there's a notorious one at my local shops where drivers always seem distracted and drive through. I always wait to make sure they've stopped that's for sure.

I hate the drivers that just try to slow down for you to cross and not stop. I'm not walking out until you stop, I can't tell if you've seen me or not.

No traffic to whinge about this morning as i left home before 6am, I have a right turn across St Kilda rd to get to my office. It's a fairly short green arrow but doesn't usually take too long. This morning it went through 3 cycles before we got a green, very weird, not sure why.

Reverse and re-trigger the sensor?

Does that work?

Bloke in the city riding his bike with his daughter on the footpath, pinging his bell so we'd move. Me and a few others who had to move pointed out there was a bike lane about 2 metres away, what a dickhead.
Eh, are we talking bike lane that's part of the road? If so, young kids shouldn't really be riding on them. Adult cyclists can regularly get up to 25km/h plus. Kids are actually encouraged to ride on footpaths and it's not illegal.

Yep it's on the road but there's parking in between that and the road which is a service road. Can't say I know the laws around this but didn't seem like an excuse to ride through a busy city footpath flicking the bell.

Something i learned when riding the bike, is to give the bell a ping as you approach pedestrians on shared paths. Its not so you move , its so they know you're coming. ( mainly if you are approaching from behind ).
I scared the living shit out of a woman one day as i coasted past her.

So now i ping , but also try to give a smile and a bit of a wave as i go past so they know its a friendly ping and not an angry ping.

Vent at myself. For parking in a spot everyone left vacant. So when I went to leave I had to do... Idk estimating a 9-point turn? Minimum

Was something like out of Austin Powers was laughing my ass off 😂

It’s funny the amount of times you drive along a busy shopping strip, see a spot and indicate and start to pull in then quickly realise why it’s empty and move on!!! Usually a BMW driver who can’t stay between the lines or a trolley.

This was a regular 90 angle spot in a car park, on the end next to a raised set of rocks/border of the car park. An outdoor one. Car park full and it's one way out. If I could have gone the wrong way it would have been easy AF.

But I didn't do that no way. A car did end up coming so thank god I didn't do that. Suppose could have just reversed out of the actual car park itself. Onto traffic tho that's not the best idea either
