Walked past each other at Players Bar in Adelaide around 25 years ago.

Eye contact, followed by mutual nods.

Not much but it's enough.

AB, like Skull, looks completely shattered and struggling to get the words out. Fox doing a great job with this tribute. Confirmed the Great Southern Stand will now be named the Shane Warne Stand.

Jim Maxwell spoke about a couple of the not so pleasant encounters he had with Shane on ABC before. Which I was surprised that he chose to do.
Someone on the ABC not reading the moment and talking about themselves.

Surely you jest.

It's obvious Warnie wasnt a saint (other than a supporter) and he paid for his mistakes. Probably more than considering what he was punished for.

One thing life has taught me is that there are very few unflawed greats. Without thinking everyone could reel off 10.

Need to move his statue in front of the S.K Warne stand now.
It'll be called S.K. Warne stand for about five minutes after it's dedicated then it'll just be the Warnie Stand which is entirely as it should be.

It will always be the Warnie stand from now on, no matter what the official name is!

The Victorian government say they will be renaming the Great Southern stand in his honour, the S.K. Warne stand.

Hang on.

Wasn't it just last week where the Vic Govt, MCG and AFL agreed the Great Southern Stand needed to be torn down as part of an urgent MCG rebuild because it's out of date and lagging behind the quality of stadiums in other cities?

It definitely will be. But it'll still be the same stand, just with a major upgrade. There's no reason either can't happen now.

Michael Vaughan barely holding it together :'(

I'd been a little emotional watching all the tributes and things today, but this is the one that broke me. Vaughan speaking well and clearly about an old friend and you can see in his face when it clicks for him at the end of that interview that he won't get to make any more of those memories. Brutal

Probably already said but he dragged the " dark art " of Leg spinning in the light.

Spoke to my 14 yo nephew earlier and just said " I wish you could've seen him play, mate "

If his death inspired even 1 parent to show their kid what leg spin is, then it's already a mighty legacy he's left us.

He transcended all sports and countries, i just recieved a message from an American friend who was deeply saddened also. A great character who spoke his mind, he told it as he saw it and this might've upset the woke crowd, but he wasn't going to be anyone else for nobody. We won't see his like ever again. Name the MCG stand and have a state funeral, it's a sad day for all of us who follow sport. This will take some time, take care sports fans.
