At the risk of pointing out the obvious here m8, it boggles the mind that so many people over there seem to consider this behaviour to be virtuous. Tesla is an organisation made up of tens of thousands of people who have done some objectively impressive engineering and have dragged the rest of the auto industry away from oil with them. The products are far from perfect and there's nothing wrong with folks choosing to boycott them based on a dislike of the CEO. But to take this dislike of one person out on the company and its consumers as a whole, to the point of property damage or violence, is absurd.

Here's the Australian NBN story I have heard. Please feel free to add to it if something is missed or incorrect.

So NBN was planned by labour government - 1gbps connection to every Aussie house. Then government got changed and Liberals came to power. Rupert Murdoch media (news.com etc), Telstra etc have better hold of Liberal party (by doing backroom deals & party donations) so they installed some idiot called Tony Abbott as a prime minister. This guy was seriously bad at everything he did (including eating onions) so people expected him to do bad shit which he did. One of his bad things was NBN. He changed the plans so NBN plans went from 1000mbps to 50-100mbps max (by the use of telephone lines instead of fibre to home).

Once most of the crazy f*ckery was done, they got rid of Tony Abbott and got Malcolm Turnbull as PM. By now things with NBN were advancing according to the downgraded plans. Malcolm couldn't change anything as he was afraid his balls would get squeezed by party donors if he deviated.
