The only reason the charges are being dropped are due to procedural issues and not on the merits. Why procedural? Because if he is found guilty, Trump can actually pardon himself whilst he is President. So no point in proceeding with the case at this point.

Now assuming there are no statute of limitations on those federal charges (and there might well be) and given those charges have been withdrawn on procedural matters and not there merits, those charges and trial could be restarted when he is no longer President in Jan 2029.

Now the state charges in both New York and Georgia are both state matters and therefore Trump can’t pardon himself so the sentencing for the New York has been delayed indefinitely (due to Trump being President) but the sentencing will occur when he is no longer President. Sentencing has only been delayed not withdrawn.

Pete knows all of this. But when you're part of a cult, the facts don't matter and you hook that party line directly into your veins baby.

Pretty big cult judging from the election result.

Some might even call it, the ordinary mainstream!

Tell you what. You have no idea how proud I feel to be part of the world’s first ever ordinary mainstream cult.

We don’t even believe in trans-ing children and open borders.

Extreme stuff, I know.

Haha. Who could forget the Great Barrington Declaration!

AKA "deliberately 'let it rip' through an unvaccinated population and cleanse society of the weak and vulnerable en masse in pursuit of unproven COVID herd immunity theory".

Why am I not surprised you're celebrating this appointment. The Trump Idiocracy continues to grow.

Thank you for bringing this up by the way, one of the many many things you've been wrong about.

There was never any evidence that natural infection with SARS-CoV-2 led to sustained protection against re-infection. Hence, protective herd immunity could never have been achieved by "letting it rip". We knew this then, and we know this definitively now with benefit of hindsight.

Some of the suggestions for 'focused protection' were also laughably impractical. Here's a quote I prepared earlier:

For arguments sake let’s say there’s half a million people in this country who would be at risk of severe outcomes due to age or various comorbidities that we would need to bundle into this ‘protect the vulnerable and let it rip’ strategy.

Can someone please conceptualise for me what practical measures they would have taken to ensure the safety of the elderly and otherwise vulnerable (in addition to what we are already doing) in this scenario where we intentionally let the virus rip through our population prior to vaccine rollout?

Are we sticking them in camps in the desert until the pandemic is over as suggested for hotel quarantine? Are we creating ‘bubbles’ for them in the cities? How would this work?

Have people even considered the logistics of this, let alone the ethics?

We’re not talking about squirrelling a handful of oldies away for a month or 2 then getting back to normal. We’re talking about creating a hermetic seal around half a million people for years whilst a virus that could kill them spreads unfettered through the community over and over again.

What happens when they need healthcare or other support services? Who’s working in these facilities? Do they go home to their families/shops/other services etc at any point, or are they also expected to cut off all contact with the outside world?

It’s magical pie in the sky thinking.

Say what?

The immunity generated from an infection was found to be “at least as high, if not higher” than that provided by two doses of an mRNA vaccine.

Immunity acquired from a Covid infection provides strong, lasting protection against the most severe outcomes of the illness, according to research published Thursday in The Lancet — protection, experts say, that’s on par with what’s provided through two doses of an mRNA vaccine.

I remember the real cult abusing anyone that mentioned Ivermectin as a treatment for Covid symptoms (because Trump was pushing it)...remember that

He may next try and tell you that NBC news is a far-right maga conspiracy network and not to be believed.
