Then there's the 'dark matter' of frees that should've been paid but weren't - you'd have to expect those to be to the SANFL's teams' advantage in similar proportions.

lol - this one, and the non report one on Jackson that you posted, tell me that it's neither corruption nor incompetence, but official SANFL policy to umpire the two AFL reserves sides 'differently'.
Agreed, but why can't the club say something along the lines of if you want us to help prop up your comp F.F.S. give us a fair go, or assuming the mob down the road are copping it as well have a chat with them with the aim of making it a joint complaint.

In 2019, shocking statistics revealed Adelaide, since entering the SANFL competition, had the worst free kick differential at -498.
Port Adelaide were ranked second bottom at -307.
The next-ranked team was Norwood at -84.

I have no idea why this clear as day blocking free is causing so much angst on social media. If it were anywhere else on the ground nobody would have batted an eyelid. You can't take your eyes off the ball and take out an opponent under a high ball, especially when you don't even contest that ball yourself.

The only reason it's causing angst is because frees for blocking on the goal line aren't usually paid. But that doesn't mean the Baker call was wrong, it means all the other calls were wrong.

The craziest thing about this is its nowhere near as bad as the obvious Weightman dives that gifted the dogs two undeserved goals, and I still don't know why the Port goal was overturned like 2 minutes before this happened. That's not even to mention the clear Port 50 in the last quarter that was ignored.

It honestly feels like the Dogs just expect to be given such a crazy rub of the green each week and people expect Port to be rogered by the umpires that when a game between the two was actually called down the line they cry about it. Free kick count was 19-20 lol...

If you are the club you need to be going to the AFL with all the footage of missed free kicks and **** ups in the sanfl. It is unacceptable.

At some point it goes from being an issue of competitive integrity to a genuine issue of player safety. In the AFL that Jackson bump is a four week holiday. How on earth is it not even looked at? How is it not a free kick!!!

And now all the various spuds and plodders are given carte blanche to take out our players.

As far as I know the SANFL are obliged to follow the AFL guidelines in terms of the tribunal and if they are not doing that they should be sanctioned.

Weightman's play acting is beyond farcical, both Brown and Lewis on the fox after match stuff called him out on it, and both suggested it's time the AFL got involved in putting a stop to it.

I haven't been to Magpies game for quite awhile due to the umpiring. It just pisses me off too much to enjoy the game. It's not a one eyed thing, it's just blatant cheating. Shown very clearly by statistics of a 10+ year period.
The club needs to be more proactive on calling this out.
Indeed, and it seems to impact the Crows reserves as well (I think they have the second worst FF/FA difference). If both clubs combined to raise this it may get more traction.

I don't know if this is part of the trend we see with our reserves players in that they generally perform much better at AFL level than they do at SANFL level, which to me seems somewhat counter-intuitive.

Funny how loud they called it out post game, yet during the game commentary had no issue with it.

The other one they don't want to talk about is English's mark in front of goal in the last quarter. The commentators openly said Finlayson was following English to spoil and was blocked well off the ball to stop him getting to the contest. That should have been paid downfield to Finlayson.

It is mind boggling that in 2023 South Australia, Australia, such blatant corruption as exists in the SANFL umpiring department can go without being called out and punished. Fact is we have lost the free kick count every single game this year (and the vast majority of games for the last 5 years). The negative free-kick differential is startling. Yet no-one calls it out.
Not Ginever. Not Tredrea. Not Dittmar. Not Kornes. Not Walsh. Not Casey. No-one.

How does that happen?

It’s CORRUPT. There is no other explanation. It doesn’t even need to be exposed. It’s there for all to see.

They mentioned it in the broadcast on 7 and talked about it as if it was a once off, blue moon occurrence and not the weekly routine.

I can see why the club can't say much. They clearly all know it and feel it, I remember Summerton tweeting about it once I reckon, but they would cop it if they spoke about it publically.

I can sort of understand why some commentators can't talk about it as they have commercial agreements with the SANFL. Notably Kornes doesn't as far as I know so it would be good if he could put his bleating to good use instead of the other shit he talks about.

What I can't understand is why the AFL don't step in at some point. That Jackson bump was exactly what they want to stamp out in the game. Not going for the ball, arms up, forcefully hitting a vulnerable player.

That's the sort of shit they are going to get sued for in the future.

If anything, I would hope at the very least it hastens out exit from the league.

Went to the last 2 games at Alberton, the umpiring is so far below amateur league standard it’s not funny, stopped going to the SANFL because of it and I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon it is just horrendous.
Have a look at the SANFLW Grand Final last quarter today the umpires were totally influenced by the momentum of the game and the crowd getting behind Centrals, it was like it was fixed. The commentary team say nothing it was absolutely disgraceful.

Instead we get this propaganda BS about it being the best competition outside of the AFL. What a wank fest. Would love someone from the club to just call out the free kick stats for this year and the past five years.

Not sure I buy this when I look at Narkle's stats before we picked him up and his stats in his first 2 games coming in cold.
