U16's A & B dream team

Quinn (Spotswood) - no way in the world.. He shocking, didn't see him once the two times we played them.

Harder than Phil Johnson. I have never, repeat never seen this kid back away from any contest with anyone. If not in the team for skill level then pure toughness. He'd kill a forward pocket in 3 seconds.

Stapleton (St Bernards) - no, not sure what you're basing this on, maybe best player points o rsomething. one thing i definately know is that he's not on the half back flank, this bloke's a ruckman.

Well yeah, but I wrote "Some players on the HBF/HFF are resting centremen. He's quick & tall & can kick from what I saw.

Dean (Werribee) - doubt he's played CHB in his life, but in there somewhere.

Had to put him somewhere.

McKenzie (Spotswood) - interesting, i just don't think hes up with these blokes yet.

I reckon he's there, 15 games played in the A's, best in 12 of them, kicked 21 goals for the year.

Fairley (Williamstown) - played forward line about two times all year. Put him in the ruck.

Resting on the half forward flank

Overton-Skinner (Spotswood) - just no. fairley in the ruck. maybe put him on the bench.

A good ruckman despite what you might think, but on closer inspection, Overton Skinner to HFF & Fairley to ruck

Farrell (St Bernards) - Could think of better St Bernard's players..

Very quick & knows how to get it IMO, has to be in there somewhere

Ryan (Spotswood) - just to keep the team clean, we don't want any king hits behind play, plus there are better players.

He'd have to have one of the best kicking actions I've ever seen. Have to have some mongrel in there somewhere :p

Overall, quite good. Heres an amended version of your team Flawed.

Patterson as a roughy for Willy, or more so that I had no idea who to put in the pockets. I doubt Sullivan's ever played bp in his life either.

Fair enough. Quarrier out, Overton Skinner into the bench.. & I'd still have Quinn in there. Stapleton out, Calman-Orr to CHB, Dean to a HFF.

But Spotswood's McKenzie out is a mistake, IMO. Still would be a dominant team playing against most other leagues.

You can say whatever you want about him, but nobody, I repeat, NOBODY in the WRFL U16's is harder than Phil Johnson.

Ok, I guess we could chuck him on the bench. But I still don't agree with you on Quinn. As hard as he is, I'd have Patto ahead of him anyday. I'm keeping Quarrier in there, I reckon he's a gun. On closer inspection, I'm taking Trent Rafferty out, he's over-rated, a dog, and I pretty much just don't like Altona, so we'll chuck McKenzie in there.

Bias must come into play here. Love to see the two play on each other.

I reckon Quinn > Quarrier.
Get Quarrier off the bench & put Quinn in there.
He deserves a spot.

Williamstown: 10 players
St Bernards: 7 players
Werribee: 5 players
Spotswood: 2 players

What and your not biased on Quinn, a Spotswood player. I'd take Quarrier over Quinn anyday. Quarrier plays Jets, Quinn isn't even close. Plus Quarrier played one or two U18's games this year, an excellent effort in anyone's book.

No, I agree that I'm biased.
There was bias on both sides

Well, I say Quinn, because he made the Jets squad but got cut before the first game, & because he's a little mongrel.

TU says Quarrier, even though he did nothing against us, didn't notice him.

What do you reckon Jimmy

Haven't seen much of Quarrier play.
so can't really comment on his games to much.
against williamstown he didn't seem to have a huge impact but neither did Quinn.
i know Quinn can play and does go in hard as i have seen first hand.
both good players too hard to choose.
they both have differnt style's.

Who's style of game do u think will suit the team better?

There's a lot more outside running players than in and under players, so I'd say Quinn but there's a bit of bias in saying that.

How did the Olympics go?
