Twigley was on SEN this morning (8:45am) mainly to talk about her new racing Victoria ambassador role but the boys managed to sneak in a few questions about Judd.

  • His groin is 90% and like most injuries those last few % usually take the longest to get ripe. But he (Judd) is ahead of schedule.
  • The club (Carlton) is sooo much different to the Eagles, mainly because it feels like a REAL footy club, with all it's history etc.
  • He loves being at the Carlton football club.
  • They were walking in Prahran the other day and Chris just gushed how much he loved being home. He has settled back home well and is happy to be back in Vic.
  • He'll be back from South Africa on Monday.
  • And he hasnt got any Carlton tops with the letters CAPT stiched in (yet!).

[*]The club (Carlton) is sooo much different to the Eagles, mainly because it feels like a REAL footy club, with all it's history etc....

That's a key point. The Weagles are basically a soul-less regional franchise. No culture, no history. Just an empty commercial shell, with a focus on superboxes, marketing and dollars. Hard to be passionate playing for an organization like that. Watching those games at Weagleland, with their supporters banging little yellow plastic sticks together behind their goals, always makes me laugh, and pretty much sums up this weird regional setup. While the Weagles spiraling out of control endemic drug culture, was the number #1 reason for Judd depearture from Weagleland, there's is no doubt playing for a REAL footy Club like Carlton, with heart and soul, was another motivator. :)

He's playing for Carlton because they ponied up the dough and because they are situated in Melbourne.

He's playing for Carlton ....

Everyone was offering the same money. The reasons he choose Carlton were:

1. The Blues have the most promising and talented young list in the AFL. easily. And he wanted to be part of an emerging force, rather than being part of an older, established list like the Dons or Pies. He mentioned that specifically in his press conference.
2. He was impressed with the quality of the Blues off-field people i.e. Swann, Pratt, and Icke, and the massive financial turnaround that's underway at Carlton. The whole Club is focused in winning flags 17 and 18.
3. The Blues are a powerhouse AFL Club, with an outstanding success history and culture, and draw massive crowds.

An easy and sensible choice. :)

thats exactly why he came to the blues:thumbsu:

all this crap about him coming just for the money is complete B.S

and by saying he came only for the money is the only thing opposition supporters have to keep them warm at night

they hate the fact Carlton is becoming a force again

"They all hate us, we must be on the rise"

There is no evidence of the latter yet.

Judd went to Carlton for the money. Not the facilities, not for success on the horizon. Carlton had the most room in their salary cap, had the tainted #1 pick to hold over West Coast's head.

unless judd comes out and says he left wce just for the money then i will believe you

but for the time being its your word against judds

i know which one im believing:thumbsu:

p.s your a cat supporter so ill spell it out for you

Judd>the crap you and all other opposition supporters say about judd moving:thumbsu:

I heard him in an interview about why he choose Carlton over Collingwood, and he said he wants to build success from the ground up, instead of looking like he is comming for the ride.. I dont think it really matters which club out of Collingwood and Carlton he choose both are steeped in History of success.. one with most premierships and the other winning the most matches..

Im not bitter either, he choose Carlton and I hope he has a cracking season, a fantastic player to watch...
