I really get a chuckle out these types of comments. You realise this is Muse you're talking about, right? It's not anything terribly complex.

Knights of Cydonia is the song that should have been the least likely to become a single hit, plus I don't think it did well in the charts. Out of the 4 singles released(I think there's only 4), Starlight was the most user friendly.

i am disgusted in the people of australia that atlas by battles could not even get into the top 100 while songs by grinspoon, xavier rudd, and the hilltop hoods all figured. atlas is (rightly) widely regarded as one of the best songs of 2007.

not everyone is going to agree with the winner.what would be the fun in that?
have to agree with a few posts that i am a muse fan but thought invincible is much superior to knights of cydonia.
i hardly ever agree on the number one song.just look at some of the past winners,amazing by alex lloyd.i thought three dimensions or monsters were better songs,yellow losing out to my happiness,plus the offspring's pretty fly beating the day you come,sweetest thing and brick.

if we all agreed on the same song it would be pretty bloody boring

How much notice do you take of lists that feature Rhianna, Amy Winehouse, 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and My Chemical Romance over far superior artists and songs?

Fair enough it proves the point it was widely acclaimed, but the credibility of the people acclaiming it must be questioned.

In particular I cannot see how Avril's song could possibly come in high on lists for credible critics.

Great to see Muse get #1.

I think the fact that some people say Knight Of Cydonia is their most accessible song, yet others say it isn't accessible at all, actually says a lot about the song in a positive way.

Personally, it is my favourite on their latest album & I did rate it highly in my top songs of 2007. I had The Pretender as #1 for those who are interested.

Happy with Muse at #1, although I would have preferred them to have gotten that with Stockholm Syndrome.

Well, you'd have to admit most of muses stuff isn't really your standard verse chorus verse chorus type of music that appeals to your mainstream listener.

I'm no real Muse fan bar the odd song but Muse is about as far as you go before you reach self indulgent wank. Even then, they cross the boundary at times
