So HS reporting that Cats offer to Cameron is $4.75m over 5 years!! Are they exempt from the salary cap? Especially with Isaac Smith and Higgins coming on board as well
Im okay with Geelong being a powerhouse as long as its not the Hawkes or pies

No Tim Kelly and no Ablett is probs where that cash comes from 🤷‍♂️

Tim Kelly wasn’t on much was he?

No, but they budgeted a big chunk of cap space for him that was free all of a sudden when he left. Daresay if they kept Kelly they probably dont get Cameron.

Ablett was on chips in comparison to his worth, and Dangefield i think is actually getting paid less than what we are paying Shiel.

Not to mention i think Hawkins' last deal was front ended and they have a habit of resigning guys early to avoid big pay rises, they are masters of the salary cap. All power to them.

I find it interesting and am curious to see what Daniher would have done at Sydney this year.

Very, very doubtful they finished with pick 3 this year if Joe was there.

He did a calf which delayed him 6 weeks. May not have happened at Sydney, though that doesnt necessarily mean it is Essendons fault he did it.

Sydney’s inability to get Franklin or Reid on the park reliably doesn’t suggest to me their medical or fitness department is anything special.

Don’t see why Daniher would have done any better there than he did with us, from memory he was ready to play a few weeks prior to the Hawthorn game even including the calf injury, they just left it to Joe to decide when he was going to be ready to play after that.

Brisbane will get all the credit if he gets on the park regularly with them, but in reality, it seems that however we’ve managed Joe over the past 12 months or so has been first class. He hasn’t lost any of his athleticism that I could tell, and was only rested because of the extremely short breaks between games.

So now that it's looking like we will have 6,7,8 which of these scenarios appeal:

Scenario 1: Trade up - 7 & 8 for pick North's 2 or Sydney's 3 to draft Logan McDonald or Thilthorpe. Take 6 to the draft.

Scenario 2: Trade down - 7 for Geelong's pick 14 and 21. Then trade picks 8 and 21 for Dunkley and take 6 and 14 to the draft.

Scenario 3: Take 6,7,8 to the draft.

St.Kilda is a prime example. Get some decent trades done and you can still lift yourself out of the pack.
Well if you trade out all your 24 year olds and replace them with more 24 year olds via trade then they won’t hit free agency until they’re 31 so you’d be sweet.

Why draft someone and put effort into developing them when you can go out and get a readymade player who won’t have the option to leave you for nada when they hit their prime?

We need to get a small forward

Ronke
J.Higgins
Lonie
L.Schulz
K.Turner
Galucci

Also where is Jez Mclennan at. Seemed a ready made type from his draft and yet to be given a go. With the loss of our 2 half backs is he an option to provide at worse cheap depth in that area

Ronke aside there is no reason to bring any of those players in. Might as well play Cahill.

On Turner, he's arguably the worst, most innefectual player on an AFL list.

It's like North still thinks he's the plucky 18 year old who showed a bit. Has not improved and hardly developed physically.

He's basically Josh Green without the footballing ability.

Usually when you lose 2 small forwards you need to replace them. Maybe we recruited a year ahead with Cahill due to knowing Fantasia would be leaving

Dev Smith back to the high half forward line might help aswell although if were persisting with him across half back then we need another small forward

Losing Saad & McKenna I think Webster would be the favourite.

Was reported Ross was spotted touring the facilities during the week, would seem he’s the most likely.

Especially with Brad Crouch coming in, even less opportunity for him.

A 19 year old can play the role at 17 other clubs.

Just recruit the quickest little shit available unless there is a little powerhouse like Ronke available.

Very hard running, genuinely quick and very aggressive. Perfect style of player for us.

Reckon Jye Caldwell will have more influence inside than Seb

I know that BrunoV has picked up on little agility and athletic prowess Joe has not lost suggest that he may very well have been fit to play more than we utilisied him this year.

On how we used Joe this year, it wouldn't have made much difference. On how another club uses Joe, would be very, very different.
He wasn't fit.

At best they win 1 or 2 extra games like we did.

His manager denied that. Looking likely it will just be Dunstan sent to Adelaide, who is from SA.

Webster has been linked to the dogs by someone on their board but nothing beyond that.

Him, or Savage, would be a good fit for you.
Savage way too old for our position and I'm not sure he's best 22 anyway. Id rather back in guys like Ridley, Redman further up the field.

I don't particularly rate either honestly
