Carltons list management should be a lesson for any rebuilding team. They went out and got all these players on overs from other clubs like Saad, McGovern, Williams, Cerra etc.

Its destroyed their cap, so now a team like Hawthorn already overtakes them, gets in Battle, Barass and still has money to chase more players.

Meanwhile Carlton cant even afford to keep TDK and they are completely screwed.

We just need to keep drafting until we are right near the top. Getting it wrong with any big money recruits early and you are pretty much done.

Use Balta in the Reid trade.
We have plenty of cover down back.
West coast would go for it especially if they lose Allen.
Nths pick & Balta for Reid.
Balta's no use to them in jail.

Weekend release from Goulburn and FIFO?

Carlton had to do it, because their drafting has been so poor.

All on SOS’s watch.
Reckon the Pies may be heading down the same path. Leppitsch seems to be anti draft. Just been lucky with F/S selections over the years and upcoming draft/s

Thought he was better then he was, He regretted leaving Punt Road apparently.
St Kilda didn't want him.

Should have just accepted he was not a number ruck and was always back-up could have lived his whole career here behind Nank getting paid, but after his Port contract is up he will likely be de-listed.

I’d like to hear from the hundreds of BF posters who said we’d be better off trading Nank and keeping Soldo. Anyone like to put their hand up .??

Paying overs to C and B-grade players is the problem : Williams, Saad, Cerra, Hewett, McGovern.. then Saints and Hanmeberry, Hill, .. or Bombers : Smith, Stringer, Shiel, McKay, Gresham…

Paying top dollar or even overs to elite A-graders and you rarely go wrong : Rankine, Jezza, Lynch, JHF…

So we would not regret a Harley Reid trade as he’s uber elite and will be for a decade. I also don’t believe we’d regret not getting him and holding our draft picks.

But it’s over paying for B-graders that kills your list build, not elite players.

Sold off a lot of decent depth as well who are essential when you want to compete because it means you have experienced and afl ready injury cover guys like Kennedy who is an excellent mid when he’s on and handy at half forward

Similar stuff happened to us when we were at the top of the tree like Miles, Markov, Chol ect. but we had a couple of flags to show for it

He won't go to gws and Carlton can't afford him so down to us and Bummers.
It's almost certainly Essendon.

He was rumoured to have been seen with Rosa (who knows if true) and is good mates with their Caddy. Also played with Essendon VFL and trained with the AFL side. It will be them.

Draper will likely leave, they will get a bunch of extra currency, and will trade for Reid.
