The Giants don't want anymore picks this year. That's the reason Crows traded a pick this year into next year for Peatling.

I think if we can land 17 + F2 for Smith and 25 for Daniel then we’ve done really well and can bring in some future midfielders at those first two picks.

If Saints don’t want to pay up for Macrae, then just keep him with Daniel leaving. He would still have a role to play next year and we can offload his salary next season if needed.

O’Halloran is the same age and would replace Smith as a HFF/wing/depth inside mid option, and harden us up a little bit too. He’s not a high volume accumulator, but we have enough of those. He’s impactful in the possessions he does win. Similar to Coffield, he’s well regarded as a leader and would help flesh out the mid 20s group after Bont.

Recruiting meetings are held in the Cotton On boardroom. There is a landscaping company that has the contract for Cotton On and they maintain the farms of 5 or so Cats players for free which is worth $150/200k per year. There has been several instances of cats players selling their houses for a million over reserve to people with links to Geelong and Cotton On. Add to that the well known property deals offered to players just before favourable rezoning is announced….
It will come out eventually but it will take a journo with some investigating skills and a determination to expose this cheating bullshit.
