Don't get me wrong Toby McLean is a talented young player; however, one thing that has stood out like dogs balls this year is his high tackle drawing tactics. I for one find it incredibly frustrating that the umpires continue to reward him for yanking his arm up and pulling his head back every single time he gets tackled. High contact is there if there is a poor tackle, but the majority of the frees he draws begin as perfectly legitimate tackle but his tactic of ripping his arm straight up and pulling his head back (see video) imo are against the spirit of the game and the umpires should not reward this.
This year he has an astonishing 18 frees for and 0 against record with almost all of them being for high contact. Stop playing for frees Toby and use your talent to focus on how footy should be played before your reputation as a young player gets even worse.
