Things That Shit Me the Eighteenth

I've got an Eufy which is going strong after about 5 years. The brushes wear out but you can get knock off cheap ones online.

Bear in mind that they are idiots. They will find shoelaces and tangle themselves up until they stop working. I've got some stools with circular bases and they will spend 15 minutes trying to mate. In theory they will find their way back to the charging port but they often push it into a position where they can't dock.
I have literally nothing on my floors. Even shoes are in drawers.

Had the basic model for about 3 years, very basic but does the job I need. Battery life is shocking though and I normally focus on 2-3 rooms at a time rather than letting it run the whole house.

But spending 10-15 minutes picking up stuff and moving things around makes it more efficient.

The other week I set a timer to run one morning once it had charged, but forgot about it the following week and it ran wild. Had posters on the floor it ran over and then found a bag and got itself tangled up in the string.

How much did it cost?

My vacuum is really good tho, a Miele so... idk.
I've had it for over 5 years now.

I wouldn’t have paid more than $2-300 for it. Just wanted to see if it could do the job.

Keep looking at better models these days when they’re half price but not desperate.

You still need your regular vacuum for some area or finish the job, but it’s handy to do most of the work when you’re out or I really like it on the hard floors and do Kitchen/Laundry the most with it.

Ah i dont think its really worth it then- I'm in a 1 bedroom apartment.

When my Miele dies, then I might consider it..

I got an envelope in my letter box that had a form to apply for postal voting. But it turned out to be from one of the political parties with their election leaflets included. Even the return address for the postal voting form was to the local party headquarters. I reckon the AEC should ban this.

The instructions do say to remove small items from the floor, rugs with fringes, as the brushes spin so could get tangled.

Our dock is in the lounge and it will find its way back if we make sure it can stay there by blocking off the doorway. We take it into the bedrooms separately and close the doors. It returns to the spot where it’s put down and needs to be carried back to the dock.

Obviously we’re not quite using it the way others might but it’s a system that works for us.

We do the tiled areas with a broom and mop.

I used to do a 2 bedroom unit with it only, but current place I find I need the vacuum for mostly corners or skirting boards or vacuum up cobwebs. It turns vacuuming into a 5 minute clean up job instead of however long it would take (Can’t say I’ve ever vacuumed a house myself…).

I got one of those.

Every election promise, did not relate or effect me whatsoever. So point by point, I made my comments. Including "so I get a refund on my HECS debt i paid off in full 10 years ago?" to a 20% reduction in HECS. And then finished it with "please remind me again why i should vote for you, because i have no idea" and sent it back to her

People when turning right at an intersection and do that pull to the left before making their turn. Don't do that shit.
I had someone do that at a two lane roundabout the other week
They veered across the line into the left lane before going right

It wasn't a small roundabout

People also do it before going into right turn lanes

Absolutely dog shit driving

And people who do this, having hit the brakes before turning on their indicator.

What do these pillocks think their indicator is for?

My local XGolf had a competition to pick the masters winner and their score.

I put in my tip and sent my mate a message to put his in so we had another chance.

Guess who just won and what his score was?

Guess who didn't put the ****ing tip in?

Guess who would have been the only person with the correct tip.

What was the prize?

I really want to set fire to something.

I did some contract work for someone late last year. After a bunch of back and forth for edits that objectively made the product worse, they refused to pay the full invoice saying "they put the info into an AI machine and thought that was a better version to work from."

Today I've seen what they've published, and it's my ****ing work. They've put my work into AI, presumably given it a prompt to say "copy the homework, but change it just a bit", and used it as justification to not pay me. I can see my style in it, I can see words in it that I use as a crutch.

First time I've dealt with it. And part of me thinks "I've spent 3 years knowing that I'll need an IP lawyer at some point, it may as well be now"... but the other part of me knows it would just be an excuse to create a relationship with a lawyer, cos it's not enough money that I'd make anything after paying the lawyer. It would likely cost me money, as well as the time. (Which is why they do it I guess.)
