We've got freezer on the bottom

I have had both and i prefer freezer on the bottom
Same. Our main fridge (25 years old) has the freezer at the bottom but the supplementary fridge in the garage is a bit smaller and has the freezer on top.

Ok. Now this is a contest on how many fridges you own.

I may have the oldest fridge. My parents have the exact same fridge they had in our first holiday house. That's circa 1989 or earlier

I don't even know how it is possible, I might ask them when and where they got it
My late in-laws (dec. 2010 and 2016) had the same Kelvinator from when they got married in 1960. It was given a new home by a niece of theirs and as far as I know is still going. (But I can’t be sure…)

We bought our microwave in 1988.

I think this is the only thing I have ever seen negatively of Neale Daniher.

It's not entirely about neale daniher. Why do we have to fawn over famous people who only care about a disease because it happened to them. It reeks of self interest

There are plenty of far more deserving Australian of the year candidates who contribute to society because it's the right thing to do, not because they or someone in their family is sick

But they can't kick a ball good so who gives a shit about them

Australian of the Year is weird, it feels like something that belongs in the last century when we were an isolated island at the bottom of the world. A Google search to see how many other countries do this sort of thing just showed that pretty much every local council awards a citizen of the year too so I guess it's everyone wins a ribbon if you hang around long enough.

I dont understand houses (probably ones more in America?) that have one bathroom and one toilet, inside that bathroom.

Just. No.
Due to the size of my unit I have shower, toilet and laundry all in the same room

No, this is my legitimate opinion

Presume you feel the same way about the McGrath foundation

Unfortunately, but very normal, for many people, “causes” are just that until it lands on your own doorstep and you realise the gravity of the situation. The fact that they then step up, even though they are dying and work tirelessly to raise funds speaks volumes about their character.

It’s time they could be spending solely with family but they aren’t - it’s such a weird take

Lets be clear - I'm not having a go at the work, I'm having a go at the motivation.

If we're talking about handing out Australian of the year awards, I'd rather it go to someone who raises money or works for causes that don't affect them or their families

Famous people who get sick could have used their platform to raise money or awareness and any time - most of them don't until it affects them.
