This is close to Max best WDC as he had over the course of the year the 3rd best car at best

Take away the first 4 races in which he jumped to a big lead whilst the car was dominant and he still is leading the WDC.

Nice to see Russell win a race without luck as he has been good this year.
It was maybe the third-best car in the second half of the season, whereas it was clearly the best in the first half. Perez has tried his best to make it worse than what it is.

The BBC sport Jonny Bairstow moral victory brigade is out in force folks!

Not sure what social media platform you've cut and pasted this from but it sure as heck ain't 'out in force'.

There is no one I know who has a reasonable clue about motorsport or professional sport in general who thinks that the way the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP and hence the WDC was decided was anything less than a disgrace to the sport. That it still evokes strong sentiments is not surprising - it was a horrible and unjust way to win or lose such a prestigious global world sporting title.

But most of us have moved on, including the person who suffered most from that race - Lewis Hamilton. There is no doubting the quality of Max Verstappen as one of the best drivers the sport has seen. A totally deserving championship yet again this year when he lacked the support of a consistent team mate in his adjacent garage and when he faced stiff competition from two other teams from mid-season.

A worthy champion.

And as they say, the only way to avoid criticism is to say nothing, do nothing, be nothing. Max attracts criticism for all the right reasons imho.

They said that the Sainz pit entrance violation wasn’t even reported to the stewards.
Despite Hamilton mouthing off immediately. Mercedes must have just said we don’t care Lewis.
Hang on. So the race stewards are saying they need a report from a participating team before they investigate and adjudicate a penalty for a clear breach of the safety rules?

Millions of viewers across the globe saw it happen in (almost) real time. The breach was clear and there were no mitigating factors other than the usual incompetent Ferrari strategy call.

Will be astonished if this goes unchallenged.

Wow that throwaway post really wound you up didn't it? Lighten up. He has 4 titles, saying he has less is just delusional straw clutching.
And where did I suggest Verstappen didn't deserve to win it this year? You had to add on a pointless diatribe about that.

The word half is doing a lot of heavy lifting here..

I could give you the first 6 races maybe even 7 but that would be a 1/4 of the season

Haha Max was on fire last night in all the post race interviews as he got drunk. You can see Zak’s soul leave his body right at the end there 🤣🤣

Max has been having so much fun being drunk and spiting facts at people since after the race it has been awesome.

The above is funny so is the interview with him saying that if he was in the MCL he would have sown up the WDC even faster.

hahaha oh man, LEC starting to really crack this year and next year once HAM is there (who will probably push him harder than SAI), Ferrari radio is going to be extra spicy
I doubt it, he'll have Lewis covered pretty easily.

Sainz is quick, i just hope Williams build him a decent car...... or red bull come calling.

What interview was that, I didn’t see that one?

When Mclaren caught up to RB, Verstappen resorted to his cheap shot thug driving. I wouldn't be so quick with the smart-arse comments if I were him.
4x reigning world champion, a drive for the ages only a few weeks ago to essentially seal the title, won the title in a car that wasn't the quickest for a good chunk of the season.

Yeah let him talk his shit.

And yet he still outscored them.

While Mclaren were left to resort to cheap shots and never ending Norris and Brown whingefests.

If anything Max showed this year just how big the gap is between him and everyone else.

So yeah he can say what he likes.

If wiki is right. Verstappen led Norris by 69pts after the Spanish GP, which was the end of his dominant run. He now leads Norris by 63pts.

The Austrian GP was the next race after Spain, where Verstappen returned to his dangerous thug driving, having been challenged for the win by Norris, the first time he'd been genuinely threatened for a win. Verstappen benefited from the points gained over Norris, more than if he'd won and Norris finished 2nd.
