I also agree, but it is worth considering that socialist thought is a part of the Western philosophical tradition, and its core tenets correlate with Abrahamic thought to the extent that it is often considered an evolution of it, particularly with regard to the Lutheran split from traditional Catholicism.
Made me smile a bit when someone up there said something about lefties being opposed to religion.

Or, religion is just a product of society, not the source of ideas.
