Just been to Hellfire Pass cutting on the infamous Burma rail road.
My nephew was part of the Australian Army company who cleared the cutting back in 1989
Said it was backbreaking work just to clear it with all modern equipment.

The pass goes for about 400 metres and was cleared by hand by Australian British, US Pow's and Thai slave labourers. in parts is over 100 metres high.

Well yes I agree with you, it is well known “whites” weren’t always white.

However, that is clearly not the author’s point, is it.

Obviously not but don't know why it's an issue. Until the Middle Ages when the europeans worked out how to use a boat and then became obsessed with spices and empires, The Middle East, North Africa and Asia controlled a lot of the world's trade and money.

White superiority was a pretty recent development. Oil and mineral wealth being so tempting, we've had to keep a lot of people down and as such we need to keep them dehumanised to justify killing them so that we can keep stealing shit off them. If you make brown people sub human no-one cares. Race is a handy tool for division among the masses.

It's an interesting topic IMO. I remember reading that Cherokee Indians may have more Semitic DNA than a lot of Ashkenazi jews and vikings aren't native to Scandinavia. So it kind of is a construct in a way. If you are religious we are all from a pair of initial humans (one that was actually a rib) and then after the floods we got a bit busy with our sisters to repopulate the earth.

I hate this argument, so dumb. “Don’t be racist because there’s technically no such thing as race!”

Yeah sure there's no straight genetic thing that completely determines how people appear and act.

But different combinations of genetics, epigenetics, upbringing, and culture definitely produce characteristically different physiologies, psychologies and behaviours - on average.

Don't want to call it race? Fine, but different groups of people are clearly different from each other.

Having to pretend everyone's the same is just dumb and removes any nuance from the discussion.

I thought that that was the "No" vote argument. No one should be recognised because having one race acknowledged over another is racist. You guys don't know what to get upset about any more.
