Easily the biggest conspiracy talked about on BF is the "Murdoch Conspiracy". Many people blame this conspiracy for all the missteps of one side of politics.

Yanis Varoufakis outlines what Marine Le Pen is being charged with at the 9 minute mark. Yanis is of the opinion that she is likely guilty of what she is being charged with, but that the crime for which she is being charged with is widespread.

Members of the European Parliament are given over 30,000 Euros per month to employ staff and fund political work in their home country, with leftover money routinely being diverted to their own political party who are often much more cash strapped. That is what she is guilty of. Yanis believes that singling her out for a crime that is so widespread is selective justice.

She is not the only victim of this type of lawfare, they make several references to how often it has been used against left wing candidates in Latin America. I agree with them that this use of selective lawfare will only serve to make Le Pen and her party more popular.

I think the Georgescu case in Romania is more disturbing than the Le Pen case. He actually won the election and they just cancelled the result by accusing him of Russian links and Russian interference, as though the US and EU haven’t interfered in elections.
