I hope we don't let this happen, if he's good enough to be on Collingwood's list he's good enough to be on our list.

Different circumstances. Collingwood believes they have a chance to contend this year and a clear need in the here and now. A 32-year key defender doesn't really solve any immediate needs for us.

Yes, completely understand that, however if his form continues and is better than Pink & K Dawson by the time the MSD comes around, I wouldn't be opposed to offering him an 18 month contract. As long as he's an improvement on our current stops gaps it buys a bit more time and insurance for W Dawson and Whitlock.

Unfortunately they will do it to spite us because of our interest in Maynard who is a great player don’t get me wrong .
Mind you if we offer him a Godfather offer and he accepts where does this put Hardeman and Goater futures? As Archer will be long term player then McDonald who believe it or not has played 2 good games in a row and if plays another 3 or 4 games in a row like that will get a contract extension.
Plus you have got Daniel who is a lock then your key backs.
So hopefully North thinks hard I’d be offering Bobby Hill small crumbing forward who our club needs a massive deal or Connor Rozze a big deal.
Just don’t put your eggs in 1 basket with Maynard.

Yes, Collingwood, one of the biggest sporting clubs in Australia, will take an aging North VFL player in the mid-season draft, purely to spite us in return for media reports that we have interest in recruiting one of their out-of-contract players.

WTF? That is some seriously delusional nuffy bovine excrement right there.

The Pies have a clear need for a key defender to take the bigger key forwards since they lost McInnes, who himself was being developed as a replacement for Murphy. They will take the best option available. Simple as that.
