Stats Round 10

Souths: Nathan Phillips - 23 kick, 2 handballs, 13 marks, 7 inside 50's, 5 goals, 2 behinds, 2 tackles

Swans: Clinton Gartlett - 14 kicks, 12 hanballs, 8 marks, 3 inside 50's, 1 goal, 1 behind, 2 tackles

Andrew Krakour - 20 kicks, 12 hanballs, 6 marks, 6 inside 50's, 1 goal, 1 behind, 6 tackles

Perth : Tendai Myzungu - 20 kicks, 21 handballs, 7 marks, 5 inside 50's, 4 tackles - An area he needs to improve on is his goal kicking, great field kick, siezes up in the 50, especially from a set shot.

Just following up on these boys, their stats for round 10.

Not going to include stats for the claremont boys, they played a rabble, hard to guage anything when you win by close to 200 points.

Davis played a ripping match today Mm and I reckon he's got to be closely monitored. Starting to play good, mature football, not going a bull at a gate on everything. Was very influential in the final result today.

Why was he axed when your midfield is crying out for runners and guys who can kick it over a jam tin?

Will be back on your list if Woosh has a brain.

Feel free to add him on mate, this is the peoples thread :D

Funny story today with the Rioli, Motlop connection the pair were dropped for the Souths reserves for turning up 45 minutes late, apparently they went to medibank oval, Glory's Home ground instead of Leederville.

When they were told Marlin piped up and said " Shit John, we made it down here Darwin, fair go. "

Needless to say they were dropped then and there.

I'm thinking of taking out a mortgage on my home and paying Gartlett to not play for the rest of the year, then snare him on the freo list :thumbsu:

Ha ha classic....he has a point though:D

Phillips continues to shine. Must be on at least a few clubs radar now!

If Bairstow goes it will be interesting to see if Geelong use a father/son pick on him. Can they use them in the rookie draft? Also brother (Dylan) playing for this year? He was selected in last years state 18's squad but I'm not sure he made the 22. Used as a fullback/full forward but gave a bit much in height to be selected.

Both are sons of Mark Bairstow.

Toby has some chance as a rookie (but AFL clubs are not keen on slow midfielders anymore). Dylan has no chance at this stage has shown nothing compared to Toby.

On a different note

Tendai Myzungu: 40 possys last week:thumbsu:. Rookie listed at least with Nathan Phillips and Clint Garlett

With the AFL's obsession with pace someone like Dean Cadwallader from East Perth may be an outside chance - seriously fast and pretty hard at it.

Otherwise C Jones and Richardson would have to be very closely looked at. Luke Blackwell and Ryan Brabazon might be worth another crack. Maybe Jamie McNamara too. Mzungu's stocks are rising every week.

Other outsiders - Bernard Sneeuwjagt (P), Aaron Elari (P)

I expect C Jones to get another chance but not in WA. Not sure about Blackwell but Brabazon should get another go (I didn't know he was at an AFL club before)

McNamara probably get pick up outside of a WA club, Mzungu hopefully stays in WA and Elari is on the right track but may need to continue to shine (can't afford a slip up or go to sleep)

I get the felling Fremantle will snap up Richardson if some otther eastern state side doesn't get him first. WCE ignore these type of players for some reason (Idiots). They love these type of players just look at Bella, Fyfe, and Mayne

Collingwood have approached Nathan Phillips from South Fremantle.

Has been told he will be considered should his form hold.

Hows Riggio going for the Swans? In my opinion he was harshly culled by the Kangas last year.

No he wasnt, the bloke is a ********.

Got busted 3 times for being on the grog, was sent home twice and hasnt bulked up at all.

It comes as no surprise he hasnt been anything special in the WAFL.

Poor attitude, Scott would have looked at him once and told him to piss off.

Should be the first player dropped each week. Done absolutely nothing to impress me and frankly, should have to fight his way through reserves like every other locally produced Swans player.

Amen and we're paying him decent coin, I'm told.

Glad someone else mentioned Sneeujwagt, he's been pretty impressive for mine.

Monteath from East Freo's been pretty good and Monk started getting back to some good form.

Gugliamana and Collica have some potential, Phillips has to be a sure thing, provided he does learn to tackle, as Mayneman said.

Phillips was awarded BOG again this week, 28 possessions, 9 inside 50's, 4 goals 2 behinds. 3 tackles.

Myzungu was also good, but I dont like him playing as a sweeper, if he's good enough he should play as a midfielder solely, and frankly Perth need some run in the middle.

That said he can only play where he is told to and was good again today.

Bairstow was also highly influential onball, Collica and Carter had serviceable games, but really Phillips was the standout, continued his strong form over the last month.

After today's game, Krakouer would have to be considered by someone, even though he is 27.

Davis was good again, seems to have neatened up his kicking quite a lot.

Clint Garlett continues to grow, in my eyes, doing some good, heavy work but also creating quite well.

Casserley's kicking is really good, maybe someone will consider him again?, because I'd like to be a forward with him delivering the ball like that.

18 disposals and 5 goals today, although it was against peel. With his pace i think he could be a chance to get drafted. Only started playing with East Perth last year after being picked up from stirling so could be a late bloomer that gets picked up, has been pretty good so far this year

How old is he ?

I would say he's a rank outsider now...
WA football has been rocked by revelations East Perth teenager Dean Cadwallader has tested positive to an anabolic steroid, Nandrolone, and been stood down

H&A season is over so I thought I'd bump this.

From Perth...
Brett Hodge, 19, made his debut this season. Averaging a touch under 20 disposals a game. Didn't see much of him myself but a few of my Perth supporting mates tell him he has been impressive (including a close to BOG performance towards the end of the season).

Aaron Elari, also 19. A few areas of his game are suspect but one who has average 20+ disposals and has been very good in a struggling side. Disposal not always what it needs to be but can certainly improve.

Not sure if he is eligible this year but Gerard Ugle is an up and coming country WA kid who has been a part of the AIS program. Only played the one senior game this year but he will be an absolute gun in a few years time.

Dene White. Under 25 and has featured prominently in Perth's side for a few years now. Getting better each year and could find himself on an AFL rookie list.

All of these guys have their faults but in my opinion they could all make the step up to AFL level in a few years time.

Wont bother with a write up on Tendai Mzungu because most know what he is capable of and is very likely to be in the AFL system next year.
