THE BEST PLAYER YOU MIGHT HAVE NEVER HEARD OF … Michael Frederick.
Pick 61 in last year’s draft has hit the ground running and shapes as something of a Round 1 bolter.
“He’s very quick, he’s got great skills left and right and in both games we’ve played he’s done things where you shake your head and think, ‘Wow, he’s going all right’,” Hale said.
“He’s still got plenty to learn in terms of structure, where to run and how we play the game, but for someone who’s been here three months he’s doing a great job.
“Ideally he puts pressure on guys and if he keeps playing well they pick themselves in the end.”

Really? That's who they went with?

Langdon is an elite recruit According to fox sports headline
When he played well for us the headline was Langdon wants to return to vic
In fairness to Fox they also published an article about Garry Lyon calling the skills from both teams deplorable in the first half. I didn't watch it all but geez it was a train wreck whilst I was watching. I didn't see Langdon hit a target in all the time I watched either but his running was 'elite'. I think it will end up a win win in the long run - there is no way he'd fit into our new game plan going forward imo - he'd struggle just like Blakely is struggling. If Langdon could kick he'd be an amazing winger though.

The 32-year-old will make his first appearance for Peel, where he won the 2008 Sandover Medal, since returning to the club in the curtain-raiser against the Eagles’ WAFL team.
So assuming this means they are playing before the Marsh game at HBF today? Will be interested to see if either Young or Henry play plus expecting Blakely to tear it up at that level as an inside mid.

Not sure how he (Langdon) finished up but at half time his DE was in the 80’s.

Langdon finished at 76% which is very good and one of the best for the game (excluding those on low stats) but what I saw (3 quarters) Lyon was right, the skills were terrible from both sides.

Not basing it on stats (DE% should be banned from being used) - just on what I saw in the limited time I watched. I rate everything about Langdon except his kicking and a lot of that is poor decision making imo. Even yesterday he's in a mountain of space heading toward the f50 and there are 2 wide open Melbourne players in the corridor about 30-40m out but instead he just blasts long to a 1v3 contest in the pocket. It was a long kick so does not get counted as an ineffective disposal but it was clearly a terrible decision.

Games in Tasmania are almost always dreadful to watch. The wind makes it really hard to consistently hit targets and the quality of football suffers greatly.

Plus Hawthorn is always playing and I hate them.

I loved the article on Lachie Schultz, guy seems to have improved leaps and bounds and I hope he cements a spot in our forward line this year.

Remember when everyone thought Schultz was a no-hoper? How times have changed.

That's only because he was awful when he played for most of last season. Looked and moved like an amateur league footballer. Fast forward and he's put in the effort over the off season and moving and working a heap better, so deserves the credit he is now getting, and it looks to be paying off for him (based on pre-season form to date). Matera was the same from 2018 to 2019 but looks to have regressed in 2020. Hopefully Schultz keeps it up through the regular season.

Yeah Schultz was garbage last year. Even if it was a pre-season match, was still surprising to see him being able to perform like he did. Although it's time to see if he has the drive and ability to be consistent. I think this will be better judged during the H&A season. Out of him and Bewley we could really use a draft win between the two.

I agree - there were a few glimpses of why he was drafted but few and far between in both AFL and WAFL. Some were saying cut him at end of 2019. I guess in reality he wasn’t too far off facing the chop but I remember posting that he at least deserves the chance for a season with a proper pre-season.

I’m waiting to see if his improved form translates to AFL. To be honest he didn’t touch the ball a lot. What I did like was his intent and also the tackling mongrel he showed. If he brings that at whatever level he plays he will go fine. I never saw the mongrel last season.

TBF that's a piece that they do after every Freo and West Coast game.

Proof is in the article itself.
i won't give that clown outfit a cent so haven't seen the full article

but, winning brings positive headlines for freo

Are you sticking up for the media, the WA media.

Can I ask whether you like the game of thrones final season as thats also confusing AF.

The W.A media reports on what is infront of them, a win for a team = positive media

I am an adult i don't watch children's shows
