Amazing turn of events for the historically KPF bereft Bulldogs to potentially lose arguably the best young key forward in the comp and yet it’s probably going to be fine because we also have the other young key forward in that argument, another one good for 40-50 goals a year and another one playing VFL.
This is why I’m pretty unfussed about this. It’s irritating that we spent the draft capital and development opportunity on him, but in terms of the list there’s a decent chance that - despite his obvious talent - he would be fourth choice KPF in the next couple of years, unless his goal kicking and defensive efforts improved.
I hope for his sake he gets his act together. But from a club perspective they should do the right things to support him while not worrying too much about the footy impact. It’ll be less at our club than it would be at others, which is bizarre given the traditional lack of KPF talent at WO.
