A mate has offered me to buy it from him at a good price and I was wondering, should i take up his offer or keep saving for another Mp3 player?
I'd appreciate views from those owning shuffles.

Thanks :)

Keep saving. Small capacity, and they are pointless. What happens when you want to listen to a particular song?

I beg to differ. It really depends on what you're after.

The iPod shuffle is a very simple device. If you want something where'll you'll be able to put heaps of music on, organise and browse all ur music then the shuffle ain't the way to go.

But if you just want something you can listen to music on, easy to charge/load music onto, great battery life, and very very lightweight/small, the shuffle is the way to go.

They're great if you take them to the gym or something like that and you dont want a heavy device dangling around.

It's simple yet effective, but like i said it depends what you want. Like someone mentioned if you want a particular song the only way is by taking it off random play and flicking through all songs.

Again i say battery life is fantastic. I charge mine probably twice a week, and i listen to it heaps. I actually put mine on and plugged it into the hifi last nite before i went to bed and had it playing, i just woke up 30 minute ago and its still playing, the battery indicator is still green :D

I like to play sport and run with an MP3 player so screens dont really matter to me.

He's selling it to me for 60 dollars by the way, and thanks for all your posts.

basically, get a no name brand but a good pair of $30 sony earpeices and u have a good player. it will sound better then the shuffle which is about 120 in shops?

you could get one of the same quality from a lesser brand for 20-30 retail
No, you really can't. The shuffle is 512Mb or 1Gb, even no brand mp3 players with that capacity are at least 60 bucks. It is a good buy if that is the player you want. Retail is 149 or 199.

Nope. Apple don't discount, they are 149 or 199, sometimes you can get 5 bucks off.

Yeah he's giving me the headphones, the whole lot.

Thanks for your help guys, I've decided to buy it from him later today, if I have any problems I'll know where to go.

you mean one of those no name brand usb ones that run off AAA batteries, and run out after about 40 minutes of playback?

My ipod shuffle battery finally ran out last night. I think i had it on playback for 8 hours or so (and it wasnt even fully charged to begin with).

It was the first time i've ever seen the battery die, and ive had it for like 3-4 months.

good if you are blind and can't see the screen also if you don't want an FM radio, which with only a gig once you listen to each song twice you'll want a radio.
the worst of all of apples MP3 players and that's saying something.

Well it f*cked up on me first day.

I typed in my serial and requested warranty use on apple.com, they claim to have sent my dispatch already, this was 2 days ago, has anyone encountered the apple site for warranty before?
