I don't think it should be that black and white. If Belal moved up would you be happy to see him get a straight middleweight shot?

I respect giving up the belt to move up but I think it can't be that black and white.

Let's face it the UFC don't have any hard and fast rules, particularly around stripping guys of belts due to inactivity. If there's a fight they want to make they can just **** with the rankings anyway.

Re Belal I don't think it would happen mainly because he's not a big draw, someone like Pereira it's a no brainer, genuine headliner. Plus I really think DDP is way too big for him anyway.

Dunno if many fans will support this but I am losing love of the UFC. Too many wrestlers grinding victories now at the top. Brady dominated Leon and he deserved it but I'm starting to peer across at BKFC a bit more now. There's just too many guys in the sport who do anything they can to minimise damage to themselves. I get it. It's successful, but I wanna see the rules change a little. There's risk when you throw a combination, there isn't really a risk for takedowns. I think they need to get rid of the grounded bullshit completely. I get people are vulnerable, your also vulnerable after you throw a one two and don't keep your hands up.

I don't hate the way Islam and Khabib wrestled especially at the top, they wrestled to find submissions or ground and pound. Maybe the answer is a standup after 30s if you aren't going for strikes or submissions

I also don’t like wrestle heavy grapplers who don’t want to actually engage other than use their control, but if we’re going to remove certain aspect of the sport then it’s no longer MMA.

Is the sport about mixed martial arts and who can use the skills set they have the best or not?

Fair post also. It’s a conundrum no doubt. Was there talk of allowing head buts ?

I haven’t heard that. When MMA first started, you could do almost anything including groin strikes and fish hooking. Eyes probably the only thing off-limits.

All introducing head-butts would do is create problems. Probably the only thing that needs to be decided upon is what can be done to downed opponents and the 12 to 6.

I don't think it needs to be crazy but maybe knees to grounded opponents so that they can't just hang off a leg, an then maybe a stalling warning so either centre the position or take a point but you can't just have guys holding guys for minutes at a time without progressing.

I imagine he'll become president, as crazy as that sounds, because the Irish are suffering. Communities have been bombarded with immigrants.

Connor has zero chance, Ireland turned against him few years back.. spitting in normal folks face, smashing fans phones, coward punching old folk at the pub, cheating on his wife.. he lost sight on what made him so popular to start with.

I just watched the whole fight Brady was active on the ground almost the entire time, I don’t mind that sort of thing, the wrestling I have a issue with is just holding the guy down with no striking or trying to get a sub

We'll see.

Ireland has a serious immigration problem. Any leader that says they'll put an end to it will do extremely well.

There's a new thread every other week on the MMA subreddit about people losing interest in the UFC.

And it's always the same reasons being put forward:

1) Dilution of cards due to ESPN deal.

No-names being put on fight nights. Many of them don't even have wiki pages. Glorified amateurs.

2) No stars. UFC going the WWE path of building the brand, not the fighters.

Letting guys like Ngannou go.

Both are valid criticisms. They are right.

I still tune in for most PPVs. But less and less for the whole card, sometimes just the final two or three fights.

I used to tune in for a lot of Ariel's shows, it has been months, maybe a year, since I bothered.

Like a lot of the people on r/mma I guess I don't really care that much any more.

As for the 'stand them up' argument, I can see merit in it.

But I also see the point Rogan is making, if somebody gets the other guy down, and he can't get up, leave them.

Wrestling is a fighting style of its own, and it is central to MMA.

Name them.
Are you suggesting there aren't any? The Independent Ireland movement is gaining momentum and is aggressively anti-immigration, while all Fianna Fail and Fine Gael candidates will run on "firmer" immigration policies, without necessarily inflaming like the former (and McGregor) will.

There's also the small matter of getting a nomination to begin with. He'd have to be supported by either 20 of the house reps or several local authorities, all of who are strongly affiliated with existing parties.

No, robbyroy, I wasn't suggesting that there aren't any. I just wanted you to name them so I can check them out and see how popular they are.
We're talking about saving Ireland...Irish culture. Making the streets safe again. If ever there was a time that things needed "inflaming" it's right now.
