Connor is 7-0 at 145, 1-3 at 155 and 2-1 at 170 (Weak opposition in Diaz and Cerrone), Connor was a weight bully.
I hate Conor but weight bully doesn't make any sense

He never really fought at 170 as far as I'm concerned. Diaz and Cerrone were career 155ers, all they did was agree to not cut weight. A true 170er ****s Conor up, even prime Conor doesn't go with the top 10 at 170.

I think he would have had a similar run at 155 as he did at 145 though. He was still skilled as **** and beat Eddie in one of the best performances I can remember.

Going up to ww was marketing and little more. See my last post, he wasn't really fighting at 170
Yeah would be like Pereira and Hill not cutting for LHW and then saying they are fighting in a heavyweight bout. Doesn't count

I'm not so sure Conor would have done as well at 155, his power didn't seem to translate as well especially with Poirer. 155 was definitely weaker than a couple years after he beat Alvarez. Khabib, Justin, Dustin, Hooker, Tony etc I reckon he loses more than wins with those guys

Had he built his body for 155 and stayed there rather than going up and down across 3 weights I think he'd have done well. He's a better striker than everyone listed when you look at his prime run. He smokes Hooker

Tony would have been an epic fight when both in prime. Tony's chin was uncrackable but he was so hittable too and thrived off damage taken. Genuinely think Prime Conor stops him but fully accept that will be unpopular and not a hill I'd die on. Think he beats DP

It's the wrestlers at the time that'd have broken him. I'd rate RDA more chance to beat him than most listed tbh, he never touches Khabib at any point of his career either.

I think Conor tarnished his legacy a bit the last few years, at his best he was elite. Wasn't the same once the partying and injuries took over and people probably don't think of him as skilled as he actually was.

There's weight classes for a reason so people can definitely think he'd struggle going up to 155 in that period but I think he could have been a career 155er tbh...

Speaking of Conor opponents, Eddie Alvarez headlines BKFC this weekend. Not that into bare knuckle but I'll tune into this. Love Eddie Alvarez fights dating back to Bellator/Japan days

Yeah some shit I'm happy to argue about, this ain't one of them. I don't think Conor would have done as well but I don't really have much to back it up except gut feel and a couple of fights against 155ers. Struggling against Diaz twice in his prime was kinda his level. He's a top 10 155er and arguably top 5 but I wouldn't have seen him holding the belt for more than one or two goes unless they fed him strikers. Sucks we never got to see him vs Gaethje or Tony or any of those guys around then he could have done 5, million dollar PPVs at 155

Against Mike Perry too. It can be a tough watch but I'll watch the **** out of that

Yeah huge assumptions on either side of the argument, one of the sports great 'what ifs' imo as all those fights would have been great...

Eddie will be a bit undersized and Perry is made for bare knuckle. Expect Perry to win but it'll be a good clash

Agree with all of this. Feels disgusting defending Conor, but it's got to the point where someone has to! Dan Hooker being mentioned in the same context is how far his status has fallen.

Hey man lol don't forget Hooker went to war with Poirier and almost finished him.

Good fight. I imagine MVP's opponents will be pretty tailored for him at this stage of his career.

Holland, Luque, Wonderboy, Garry, Neal... even if they do just keep throwing him in with strikers it's going to be seriously fun to watch.

Anyone else worried this might be the beginning of the end for Volk?
Usman was 60s away from destroying Leon and probably getting a shot at double champ status now he's on a 3 fight skid.

Getting finished that quickly has got to leave some sort of demons

Yep. Coming back so soon too against a hard hitter with good TDD

Hope he comes out as good as Max 3 but just can't help but see Illia landing something big

Yep, he's been at the top for some time now, he must be declining. Topuria is in a great situation to potentially take out an ATG.

Then again maybe Volk is really pissed off about the loss and wants to knock Topuria's head out of the cage ha ha

Not gonna lie, that possibility terrifies me.

The fear of the 1st defeat is no doubt a big motivator in itself. I'm sure Volk feels like a great weight's been lifted - but he's probably set for life in many ways as well as the burden of expectation no longer being there as far as his dominance is concerned.

I really hope he has another dominant career run, but I am worried that we've seen the best of him. :(

Yeah the end comes so ****ing fast at that elite level. Seeing unbeatable guys like Usman, Ferguson, Izzy, Woodley etc lose that one fight and then look nothing like they did before again.

Only plus side I can see is Volk is great at distance management and can easily go 5 rounds where as Topuria is pretty unproven over 5 and deep water fights
