Bivol/Beterbiev fight week!

8am Adelaide time is what i have listed and the Saudi's always run late so this is perfect. Fight of the year is coming up fast

Wide odds on Beterbiev by decision đź‘€

Only way Betervbiev wins a decision is if he gets a couple or more knockdowns and correct me if I'm wrong Bivol has never been knocked down has he?

I dont necessarily agree he needs knockdowns to win a decision but it'd help! He comes forward constantly and will land the far heavier shots of the 2 whether he scores a KD or not...

Bivol never going down also helps in it going the distance, which gives the long odds bet a chance.

From most to least likely scenarios IMO

Bivol Decision
Beterbiev Decision
Beterbiev stoppage
Draw
Bivol stoppage

In terms of value i think Beterb decision is the bet, despite Bivol decision being a likely scenario (gun to head I'd pick that too). It's such a close fight, at > 10/1 I think Beterb can take the cards more often than that! 6/1 fairer

When fighting Beterbiev, I'm not sure if never being down is particularly important to consider, well at least when considering how good his chin is. The most important thing will be not getting hit or at least not often, rather than being able to take his shots for 12 rounds. If he is able to consistently connect, I'm not sure anyone goes the distance with Beterbiev.
I agree that it's not crazy to think he can win without knockdowns, his pressure alone can win enough rounds, especially if Bovol isn't throwing as much as he needs to.

Deines, Gvozdyk, Koelling, Browne all took it pretty late against Artur

Bivol chin looks pretty good as well as his movement/defence. I don't think it's as black and white as many suggest in that it's Beterb KO or lose...

His ability to carry power from round 1 to round 12 makes him a tough assignment for anyone. I agree that it isn't Beterbiev KO or lose, he absolutely could win a decision if it goes the distance.

Nice undercard for Fury/Usyk

Bohachuk/Madrimov
Itauma/McKean
Fisher/Allen

No idea why McKean would take that fight but fair play. Madrimov v Bohachuk is a great undercard fight despite coming off losses

The undercards start at 8am?

What a fight this will be. Bivol to win a classic. Opetaia to win in style🥊

Bivol by UD is a safe bet imo
I'm expecting a close fight where both have momentum at times. Close back and forth, bivol split decision is 8.00 at 365.

I've gone lunch money Beterbiev decision at 11s earlier this week. Foty imo, really looking forward to it

Whoever wins, I hope it's a good fight and not one guy clearly winning

Thanks for the money, Artur! Close fight, only poor card was 116-112, when they read that I thought Bivol had won tbh. Needs a rematch imo

I can see how a 8-4 card can arise tbh, some judges favour the aggressor and Bivol let Arthur walk him down majority of the rounds and only landing the odd counter.

Bivol shit the bed in the final 2 rounds, pretty much gave them away.

Bivol often took the ends of rounds off which was likely his downfall. Lost last 3 on all cards too, he just stopped throwing

Chechen warlords in the ring after the fight not a good look. That bearded guy from Chechnya celebrating way before cards were read a bit dodgy, they knew the result for sure

Hearn said the result was leaked prior to it getting read which sometimes happens.

Did you have a crack? That was the one result I didn’t see happening. Awesome fight, v close, could have gone either way, let’s run that back pls.

Opetaia was flawless, what a great perfornance, really coming into his prime, deserves more recognition here, he’s done more than Tim Tszyu for example.

imo Bivol fought scared, it was easy to see he had more skills then Beterbiev, should have went for it more, was scared of getting knocked out.

AJ v Dubois 2 in February. Headlining the next Matchroom v Queensbury 5v5

Quick-ish turnaround for AJ from a fight he got rocked 5-6x in. He'll get stopped again

Would also be nice to have a result and the division move on. Boxing needs to accept results and only do rematches when deserved, not every single time the A side loses
