I'm wondering with this, and with something i'm looking at in the Beaumont case, if these military families are able to exert pressure or influence to protect their own; and also if it might be something like the protection that priests got for way too long. Some of that was just social influence that placed them, incorrectly, beyond suspicion. JL would have been in a better position than R or MGL, having lived on a base through most of her childhood, where as the others were WWII officers then back to civilian life. MGL's father was the only one i'm aware of to live past 1982, so you'd think any impact they could have would have long since waned.

In relation about the book 'The Family Murders: Dissected'.

Yes I’m one of the authors ( Wendy )
Glad you are finding it insightful. We have changed names and used single letters where required to protect the identity of certain people for good reason, we don't want to end up in a defamation case nor do we want to squash the chances of any future prosecutions, so I shall respectfully decline to answer questions relating to identity.

I could be wrong but I am certain she maybe one of the two that were acquitted of a (pedophile) sex claim defamation case in 2008.. which would make more sense as to why the wording and references in the book read funny.

I would say that Mr R's 'assistant' who 'suicided' within a very short time of the Daniel Sheppard disappearance would have 'hopefully' been looked into by the police. That timing reeks to high heaven.

That assistant also referred to as 'Goldy' is Mark Goulding. From a source who coincidentally has the same name as the young bloke who was in the city with Barnes, BVE and Woodards.. (although his age does not line up to being this person) I was told they knew of Mr R. He said his nick name in the scene back then was Ruby Red Dress and he hated it due to sounding emasculating. He also mentioned he drove a red Mercedes and to the point he mentioned he knew Mark who was an assistant of Mr R's, he went on to say he had committed suicide due to a build up of depression from a failed relationship/breakup at the time.
Whether or not any of that is true, the conversation was sparked from something unrelated and I only remembered him telling me after I had read those two books.

I am a little confused here. Who were Mr R's assistants over time. Including MGL

did he say how Mr R got the nick name Ruby Red Dress?

Thought I’d give an update on them:

Mr R or the Businessman - getting older, but still looks physically healthy, thinning but still got a decent set of hair on him, albeit he wears the same clothes most days he has worn for years and is a bit of a slob. He has 7 cars that he interchangeably drives everyday up to 10 times a day - he’s no hermit. Not sure what he’s up to but looks like it’s more just something he wants to do rather than going somewhere.

MGL - also getting older - but he physically looks older now, a lot like Rolph Harris - he’s uneasy on his feet and is using a cane.

And this is mark goulding - I wouldn’t usually want to share a pic of him or people loosely associated, but he did provide an alibi to the businessman
