Every year we have a poor patch. Whether it is post xmas or the final few weeks. Even that season where we won the EPL, we had a big double figure lead that dropped back into single figures. Unless we can get out to a 15 point lead, 8 is to close for comfort right now.
Huh? When we won the league, the margin never dipped back into single digits. We blew the competition away. Our lead dropped a bit after the resumpion of football after covid as we sleep walked our way to the title. I think at stages during the season we had a 25 point ish lead. Ended up winning the league by 19 points. Easy sauce.

I stand corrected. But we still had a patch where we won only one of seven games post Christmas that season. So point is still semi valid. Still not convinced that we won't run out of puff at some point, given the lack of squad depth and rotations. Unless we lead by double figures at the end of January, then maybe then I will believe. City rarely drop points on the run home, and love chasing teams down.

Slot says Trent and Elliott will make the bench for the Madrid game.

Chiesa not ready, still doing light training.

Alisson and Jota not ready.

Tsimikas' knock to his ankle will mean he has a brief spell on the sidelines.

Pessimism still in our DNA. Let it go and enjoy the ride.
