As opposed to spending recklessly like Chelsea, Man U, and still being s**t?FSG. That’s what. Disgusting. We continue to overachieve with horrible owners
I mostly agree with this. Mo is one major injury away from his career ending. There is no harm in stringing this out a little which is what this seems to be. It is a little cynical by FSG - but that is what they do. Mo is the exception to their algorithm and they are nervous - but eventually they are going to have to do it.As opposed to spending recklessly like Chelsea, Man U, and still being s**t?
Also, it shouldn't be up to the owners to dig in. Just because a few owners of other teams decided to destroy the market, and changing the way transfers work. Doesn't mean that we should as well. I rather a club in good financial health, and winning trophies the proper way. Not buying them through pushing the rules.
His hair is looking great now too tbf.Mo did get a hair transplant so the club should just foot the bill as part of the contract
Replace just isnt a thing though. How do you replace Mo Salah? You cant.I mostly agree with this. Mo is one major injury away from his career ending. I always think about how they sold Mookie Betts in the MLB - that was savage. But LA have won two World Series with Mookie Betts - hopefully FSG have learnt their lesson.
For a group that think very logically and rationally, I do not believe they will let any of the three walk for free - the cost to replace is frankly huge. And if they resign Mo then they can still sell him if he does drop a little. Saudi's don't care - they will pay regardless.
Also I know it's only 12 games into the season but right now we are in an outstanding position. And we're kinda on that precipice of being uncatchable.
Say Arsenal draw next weekend and we beat City all of a sudden we'd be 11 points clear of both the two big title challengers. It's one result from probably breaking it wide open. Of course it can go the other way. Lose against City and Arsenal beat West Ham the lead is back to 5 to City and 6 to Arsenal and it's everything to play for.
But we are right there, right on the edge of blowing the doors off this thing in ****ing November haha.
Only Spurs have scored more goals than us this season, we've conceded the fewest goals by quite some distance, we have the best GD in the league.
I mean shit is getting real. I dont want to get too excited so I'm just gonna say this now and then park it again for a few months but we could win the league and it's bloody exciting!
The irony of it all is Liverpool are one serious Mo injury from not resigning him and one serious Mo injury from having no chance of winning the league at allAlso I know it's only 12 games into the season but right now we are in an outstanding position. I don't think I'll start celebrating unless we're in a situation like the below lol. We're miles away from being uncatchable. It's early doors, we have a small squad, let's see how things go when the games come thick and fast in January with injuries & fatigue. We are in a great position but cannot rest on our laurels.
I'd go 400k a week on a 2 year deal with a club option for a 3rd year.My take on Mo is his agent is trying to push demands up to a level that's probably a little unrealistic. Eventually there will be a compromise. None of us have any idea what Mo's agent has demanded on a new deal. For all we know he could be demanding a 5 year contract which is something FSG won't do and shouldn't be doing either. Could be demanding 500k / week also for all we know.
There is more risk for Liverpool than there is for Mo on this deal. The reality is Mo's best years are behind him. For me, there is no way that Mo should be getting improved terms as 350k / week is enough. I'm happy with a 3 year extension as even if Mo starts to slow down after 2 years there will be clubs that will pay a transfer fee for him even at 35 years old with a year left on his contract.
Hopefully Mo's agent isn't using wages on offer in Saudi as a bargaining tool because they'll still be available when Mo's 35 to 36 years old anyway.

Every club is like this though. Injuries to your best players dont help. Arsenal fell in a hole without Odegaard and look at City without Rodri. The irony of it all is Liverpool are one serious Mo injury from not resigning him and one serious Mo injury from having no chance of winning the league at all
Im certainly not counting any chickens at all. Big week coming up.We're miles away from being uncatchable. Every year we have a poor patch. Whether it is post xmas or the final few weeks. Even that season where we won the EPL, we had a big double figure lead that dropped back into single figures. Unless we can get out to a 15 point lead, 8 is to close for comfort right now. We're miles away from being uncatchable. Major injury to a young player is different to a major injury to an older player.Every club is like this though. Injuries to your best players dont help. Arsenal fell in a hole without Odegaard and look at City without Rodri.
We risk Bosman in a months time though…The cynic in me suggests FSG want Salah being desperate to secure a new contract and therefore continue to play out of his skin to secure it.
