The game was refereed appallingly. The ref was just looking for reasons to give our boys yellows but not them for the same things. Gakpo's was a joke.

VAR is now so engineered to avoid overturning a decision. It's too much the other way now.

Robbo looks very ordinary. Bradley looks at about replacement level, but we miss Trent in both facets of the game.

But we have the opportunity to go 11 points clear next week.

Holy shit. I fell asleep, missed this.

No overturn here is scandalous. The foul has to occur on the line or inside the box.
They couldn't be sure if contact continued into the box. How much more definitive evidence do you actually need to show you that contact, was in fact very clearly out of the box! Muppets.

Thought Bradley was flying all over the pitch in a game where a lot of our guys seemed to be lacking energy. He has a bit to go but he'll be a terrific player.

I reckon last year he provided a lot of threat and this year he looks less threatening. Perhaps it's the different role the RB is being asked to play this year, although he did look quite inverted at times this morning.

I see very little evidence the foul occured on the line or inside the box. That should be enough to overturn.

Wow, battered them but just beat the bottom team conceding 2 along the way. Not sure how to read this result. I'm hoping it's our stock standard poor performance following an international break. City will be pumped next week so need to play better. I hate 1am games.

Always keep in mind how lucrative a win is in the UCL. Klopp rarely went massive rotation for dead UCL rubbers. The word will be coming down from high to take every UCL game seriously: winning means massive amounts of cash.
1.75mil for a win. 600k for a draw. Does this really make much of a difference?

If we are in a position to rotate in the last couple CL games, I'd do it. We've copped injuries in these games before and overplaying people cause us to run out of gas right at the end of the season too.

It's clear how the fans want this to be approached. But we have a significant amount of evidence that this is not how we will approach it.

Also, not for nothing, Real Madrid need beating by us. End of. We owe 'em.

This seems crazy, he seems keen to stay but we've just given him nothing

Big time gimme the money stuff from him. Leveraging everything, form, love from fans, legacy, bla bla. He's right to do it.. pay him!! Can't be transfer market shy and not sign up our best player too

Disgusting by the club.

He's our best player.... still.

Offer the man a damn contract. Like what in the actual hell is going on??

Redders explains it here

Both sides will need to compromise here as both parties want the same result. Never going to be a case of give him what he wants as that opens a pretty big can of worms with other contract negotiations.

I'll say I believe 3 more seasons on the same terms should be a happy place for both parties.

I hope Reddy is right in that last sentence that at least we're negotiating without an actual offer yet.

Cos she is right, he is HIM. There isnt a younger version we can go and get. He's an outlier. We must sign him up.
