Check Diaz's stats on the left after that first 5 month run. Very underwhelming goal/assist numbers. Compare them to Mane's. Diaz, as much as he's likable, is not close to a world class wide player.

I reckon he was heading it down for Gakpo to get on to but Gakpo was on his heels and not anticipating it.

Diaz has not been great on the left. 16 goals and 10 assists in the PL over the previous 3 seasons combined (discounting this season because of his CF role).

Gakpo's numbers this season exceed that but are still not good enough. We don't need a Mane clone but we do require an upgrade if we're serious about having a world class attack again.
