Nick Cave is incredibly overrated!

He's been in three bands, released a ****ton of (critically acclaimed) albums, inspired countless musicians Australian and otherwise, written scripts, acted in movies, composed ten or so film scores, written six books and been inducted into the ARIA hall of fame... but yeah pretty overrated, there's plenty of Australian musicians more influential than Nick Cave.

Matthew Good is the most underrated and underappreciated singer/songwriter in music, and has been for a good decade. I'm not sure that he necessarily wants worldwide megastardom, but he certainly deserves it.

Agree, well to a certain extent anyway, I think Nick Cave is slightly overrated rather than incredibly overrated. No doubt he is a good songwriter/musician but I don't get all the hero worship for him like he is god's gift to music.

On a similar note, The Church are incredibly underrated and are the best band Australia has produced.

First thing here I agree with although I rate The Go-Betweens on par with The Church and they are equally underrated by the mainstream.

I agree with these, some really good stuff in that era, emergence of Frenzal Rhomb, The Living End, the Gurge, spiderbait, tumbleweed the meanies (Well they were slightly earlier) You Am I Jebediah etc. Loved that era of Australian music. Electro and aus hip hop has taken over since

I also dislike radiohead.
