Seems we did pretty well overall.
O'Hehir looks good and was best available, can play mid or a KPP; Mahoney as a nuggety inside mid fills a need esp if Purcell is missing for whatever reason.

Dethridge a smokey but as the last pick of the night seems worth a punt.

Don't know much about O'Hehir but i see he's from WA. Are the girls more of a flight risk knowing the $$ isn't there yet and the season is still fairly short? Seems a risky pick. Have we heard what the plan is for her? Is she moving out here or does she plan on just staying here inseason? On no more than a feeling, I'd suspect the women are more prone to being home sick than the boys too. She looks good though.

The training and playing season is much shorter for the women, which seems to make homesickness less likely. Also there is a fair bit of movement between clubs each season, so you would be less likely to feel that you have signed up to something long-term and trapped without options.

Interestingly, based on no more than a feeling also, I would say that the women are less prone to homesickness. I’m basing this on a set of generalised assumptions with no real supporting evidence though.

Agree on Bannan comparison. Maybe doesn't have the same top speed but a good burst to get space based on highlights, and a bit more dawg about her than Banno. Seemed v highly rated based on the AFLW site.

More highlights in this article:
Her awareness is strong in understanding when she's in a good spot or have to give the ball.
Footy IQ.

A bit Bannan like in terms of height, speed and athleticism.

But looks to have good awareness and on these highlights looks more than willing to get a hard ball or tackle when needed. Didn't see much marking in this highlights pack though
I like the skill of awareness which she seems quick to realise if she's in space, or needs to handball. and her handballs are high quality, and often forward of the ball.

I also like that we have more than one dasher, within our midfield mix. The more the merrier. Hanks, Bannan, O'Heher, McNamara, etc... dash thru the middle.

Damn. I kinda tuned out a bit this season. She still impacting games? Or is she cooked?
Looking medium-well atm. Has the occasional good moments but was injured quite a bit this year. Body seems to be failing her more often. Think this would have to be her last year

From the MFC site ;
A quintet of experienced veterans have all committed to the Demons, with Lauren Pearce, Sarah Lampard, Paxy Paxman, Tayla Harris and Gabby Colvin all signing on.

Paxman, Harris and Colvin have all signed one-year contracts while Lampard and Pearce have signed two-year deals which will extend their time until at least the end of 2026.
