If Cripps doesn't kick 30 and Sheed doesn't play 16 games, they're done. We have too many small forwards and forward/mids that need to be developed in their spots. I can't see Sheed getting a game even if he gets fit. And I can see Cripps getting dropped at the bye if he hasn't kicked a dozen or more.

Duursma has more upside. If he can bring his outside mid numbers into the middle next year it would likely drop Sharp to 2.
Trouble is, i think we finish above North again. I don't see the improvement in them that obviously think they will have. If that's the case Tigers will take both.

If we do finish second last, might be able to have some real interesting discussions with Adelaide (if they finish 3rd/4th last) about what they'd give us for pick 2 (and allow us to still get Rodriguez).

Picking up a future 2026 First might be helpful for any Warner deal.

Falling asleep watching current gettable episode,
I think Freo offered to swap 17+30 for 15 but we went with ports 16+45 to avoid Freo possibly grabbing Allan (even though they wanted Reid)
That doesn't make sense? Didn't Freo want to move up above Port to get Berry? Guess that would leave Port potentially to take Allan.

Port would have taken Shanahan had Berry not been available. Freo also wanted a future second back. Also didn't trust Freo even if they relented on the F2 that they wouldn't take Allan.

Also I think people are pretty happy with Grego now?

All in all outside of Saints jumping for Boxshall the draft couldn't have gone better from a club perspective.

How much is discussion around next years strategy factoring in a Warner move?
I would hope the answer is near zero - don't see the value in setting plans/strategy around a hypothetical move for one player in more than 12 months. 12 months is a LONG time.

Obviously he's a target and we have been able to accrue several early picks next year to secure a big fish if available, such as Warner. But I doubt our strategy revolves around him specifically.

Was Grego or Davis the final pick if we’d taken Boxshall?

The problem is you’ve done such a good job this year the club is likely to want to same team in place for next years draft…

I reckon they wanted to get Berry and all the intel pre draft suggested as much. They would have also known that Port and us were into him.

My guess is that they’ve told/leaked it to Twomey AFTER the fact that they wanted Reid all along. No benefit when it’s all said and done to make Reid feel like a consolation prize.

Yeah Richmond get pick 1 and 2 for mine. Considering the price it ended up selling for maybe we can have a bit of Baker cost us pick 2 banter next November.

Freddy movements and reading of the play actually reminds me a lot of Don Pyke.

His dual sidedness is so very impressive.

At this early stage and this far out from the next draft ( 😜 ), Freddy is my number 1 want for our First Round pick.

Yep that dual sided nature like Shuey, with his explosive first 5 metres and the ability to bring other players into the game with handball
He is also very hard at it
Already has a mature body
He is a creator a little like Daniel Kerr would bring others into the game
