Tatts Super 7 - $90 mill Jackpot

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Since there are (45 choose 7) = 45 379 620 combinations, you could buy every possible entry and make a profit of $45+ million (The actual jackpot is dependent on how many tickets will be sold).

Of course you would have to hope there are no other winning entries :D, oh yeah and the small problems of actually physically entering all the combinations and having the cash in hand to pay for it :D

The real winner as always are the Tatts shareholders. Last week $87 million worth of tickets were bought for the $50m Oz Lotto draw. Tatts paid out just under $30m in prizes, for a profit of $57 million!!!!!

BTW, tax is paid on each ticket bought, so there is no tax payable on any winnings.

You would clean up in every division as well

I think I'm on the right track here but you would get 44 winning entries in div 2 and so on...

Assuming we're not playing Systems and just buying all possible 7 number combinations.

Div 2 = 6 winning numbers + either supp.
7 choose 6 * 2 = 14.

Just for fun I'd run a tipping competition on BF with first prize being one million dollars.

I have a very strong feeling that I'm gonna win this all by myself next week.

As someone who has never bought lotto and doesnt know anything about it, I always wondered -- if you win do you have to physically take the ticket somewhere to claim your prize? Or are your number and details stored in a computer when you buy it ?

I imagine myself having a breakdown trying to get a small thin piece of paper worth 90 million somewhere without letting it blow away, spilling something on it, smudging it.. I suppose i would put it in a shoebox then clasp it to my chest for the drive over, but I wouldn't be able to stop myself opening it 50 times to check it was still there and that I actually had the right numbers, with all the risks that continally opening the box would involve - car crash, sucked in to the airconditioner, lost under the car seat

Then transporting it from the car into the building, getting it out for some receptionist, all with 90 million dollars on the line

^^^^ Lmao pisser!!

You remind me of Marshall on How I Met Your Mother, when he's walking down the street carrying 18 grand.

A seriously ridiculous amount of money!........It should be capped at 50mil, and the rest (40mil) spread over the other divisions.....2nd division (6 numbers) only got $26,000, very big difference between that and 50mil!..

If I won I would create a whole new lifestyle for myself....no more work or debts....set up family and closest friends, and then follow our sporting interests, just to be able to do things on a whim!!...

then I wake up and it was only a dream:o

Id probably die of a stroke after realising I won it.

Id pay off my family and in laws debts first. Not sure after that.

Hell I'd be happy with ten percent of 90 million! Would mean I would never have to work again!

If I won it all, would sort my family out so they are right in life and that's it.

Would then spend all my time travelling around the world watching the Socceroos and the Aussie cricket team :)

I'd obviously let the family know right away, but in terms of telling everyone else there's always the option of holding on for a couple of weeks then claiming that you won a smaller draw, whether it be Powerball, Tattslotto or Oz Lotto. That way every man and his dog won't be scabbing around for a couple of hundred grand.

I'm the sharing type of person, but nothing shits me more than people who hang around expecting things. Much easier setting up the family for life than worrying about which mates get what.

Question

Would you rather buy a jet, or just fly first class with commercial airlines wherever you go? I always had the feeling that private carriers weren't as safe.

(It's fun to talk about rich people stuff for a while)

I would buy a house or two, a new car, an overseas holiday and give a couple of mil to direct family.

I would put a few mil into a regular account as "play money" and the rest would go into a managed fund for the future. A certain amount would be released weekly/monthly as "allowance".

I think that a significant sum of money like this changes people and you would have to take every precaution possible to manage your own sanity and the sharks around you that will inevitably want a slice.

As far as the post about air travel goes, I wouldn't buy a personal jet simply because I think it's a waste of money (desipte having $90m). James Packer is selling his and that guy is a billionaire. First class air travel is more than adequate. I'd rather pump a few more million into future generations of my family than have a private jet for a decade or two.

I agree with everything that you would do. I'd also tip big at random times. I was at KFC after playing footy on the weekend and this kid was one of the best workers I'd ever seen. Did all the right things, really polite and so on.

I thought 'this kid gets paid the same amount as that fat useless slapper over there and it's unfair'. If I had a spare $90m sitting around I definately would have tipped him well. Like, only $50, but that's still a lot to a kid for just being got at your job.

What about your careers. Would you keep working if you had this kind of windfall?

I guess a lot depends on your age and what sort of career you have.

I would retain my job, if for nothing else, just to keep my feet on the ground. I think it would be important to remain grounded in a situation like this and imagine it would be easy to get carried away very quickly.

I’d resign relatively soon though to work on some individual projects rather than toiling for someone else (even if I do enjoy it). A collect like this means you would obviously never have to work again, but what would you do to whittle the time away?
