As far as Merlo goes, this is what I've been saying:

Biggest problem is that players who failed in their jobs in both innings are Merlo (last chance saloon), Handscomb (been good first two games) and Rogers (same as Handscomb) and all the others have had one good innings.

I think he's a good white ball player. I wanted to see him get a proper chance at FC level but he's had that now. Saying "let's give him a decent crack" is hardly fanboi status.

I've been saying he deserved a decent shot at it for a little while. He's had that. He hasn't taken his opportunity. I've said that Brasher should get a chance.

And no, you were saying it. I've shown what I've said. Multiple times. He's a good District player and I think his List A stuff is solid in a difficult role down the order.

Peter Siddle,what an amazing player for a long period for Australia and Victoria.Surprised he was picked for the Vics this season but has deserved his spot in the side and hopefully the younger bowlers in the squad have learnt something from Petes coaching and playing with him.

Then why are we second on both tables? Why are you conspicuously absent when we win but always there when we lose?

The way results are falling we'll probably be 8 points clear of third with three games left in the season.

Merlo I can understand your frustration but for me the bigger issue is we're picking someone because they're captain.

Is Sutherland in our best 3 seamers? He sure isn't a top 6 bat. And we regularly bat him in a batsman's position where he scores little runs.

Macmillan looks handy with the bat. Weatherald being Weatherald too, when he's in like this there's few better in domestic Cricket.

Barring Tassie getting a 350 lead, Victoria should be favourites.
